amp is the most amazing place! Not only is it the most beautiful place that I’ve ever been, but it also has nature and animals that will blow your mind! I have had some of my best adventures at camp and have met some people who I’m sure will be my life-long friends. Camp can make you nervous at times, but with loving friends and counsellors around you, your fears will disappear. And with that little fear of doing new things gone, you can do anything! Like archery, swimming, geocaching, biking, ropes, drama and sports, just to name a few. Camp has a variety of other activities that you do with your cabin mates too. There are also a few “special” challenges like the tripping challenge! There are so many things to do at camp that it’s impossible to tell you about them all. But out of it all, I would have to say that the best part of camp is all of the caring and understanding friends that you’ll meet. By the end of camp, they will become not only your friends but also your family.

Kitchissippi Kids love camp. Besides great memories, every kid benefits in multiple ways from summer camp. “Not only do camps provide a fun opportunity to develop a sense of independence but they also allow children to experience things they might not otherwise get a chance to enjoy, such as new sports or skills,” says Jeff Brown, a long-time board member of the Ontario Camping Association who now serves as one of the organization’s volunteer Standards Visitors. “For campers of all ages, we can’t say enough about kids needing to decompress from computers and social media. Parents should ensure their kids have an opportunity to get outside and experience nature to gain an awareness and appreciation of what is around us, and camp is a great way to make that happen!”
Challenge your child’s imagination with a week of fun and learning at the Children’s Museum!
IN THE LAND OF GIANTS
Guided by a member of the award-winning Théâtre de la Dame de Cœur, your child will discover what goes on behind the scenes in the creation and production of a one-of-a-kind puppet show.
Sure to appeal to inquisitive, adventuresome kids, the Diefenbunker’s Spy Camp offers children aged 7 to 12 the chance to unleash their inner spy. Campers learn about such exciting things as the art of espionage, how to develop disguises, make and break codes and so much more. Small camp sizes and a variety of age-appropriate programming help make the Diefenbunker a very popular summer camp destination.

Will my child do more than just play tennis at the Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club camp? A: Yes! Our camps offer 3 hours of tennis instruction every day plus swimming in our large onsite pool, beach volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, and many other activities. Campers also receive a delicious lunch each day in our clubhouse Café. Is it safe for children to be around all the animals at the Canada Agriculture Museum’s camps? Definitely! Although ours is a working farm, our barns and fields have been designed with human visitors’ safety in mind. Also, our camps enjoy a minimum 1:8 ratio of staff to campers so children are always well-supervised. What are the benefits of sending my child to a gymnastics camp? Not only are camps at the Ottawa Gymnastics Centre a great way to get kids more active, we also find that our campers become more confident as they learn new techniques in our gym. Our coaches work very hard to maintain a positive, supportive environment and ensure that all campers feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of each day.
