honouring 15 exceptional residents who contribute in areas of the city including arts and culture, business, and community service that benefit Ottawa citizens. Mills, who is the chair of the National Capital Commission (NCC), is also the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design at Algonquin College.
He said he was very happy to hear that he was receiving the award – even though he didn’t know what the Order of Ottawa was at first. “I didn’t hear that the city was starting an award like this,� Mills said. “But I was quite happy to be part of the first group, which had a lot of other people who did an awful Continued on page 9
