9:30 pm - 9:35 pm A passion and love for music was absolutely evident as a young girl. This blossomed into a childhood dream of wanting to be a DJ. Spinning professionally since 1993 DJ Jen’s history, past gigs and venues resemble an intricate roadmap of Ottawa/Gatineau. thejennhaywardshow.com

9:40 pm - 9:50 pm Afro-Canadian singer-songwriter Kimberly Sunstrum’s sound is a reflection of her culturally diverse family background and musical upbringing. She grew up listening to old-time country music, South African pop hits, American folk and classic R&B. Blending powerful vocal ability, heartfelt lyricism and skillful instrumental compositions, Sunstrum’s performances are energetic while still conveying an intimate and soulful connection to the listener. NINE OF NINE 9:50 pm - 9:55 pm Nine of Nine blends elements of grunge, punk, folk and pop to create a distinctive and full sound. The singer songwriter relies on a lightweight ‘silent’ guitar, electronic tools, as well as looping synth and guitar riffs to adapt to changing physical limitations associated with Ehlers Danlos syndrome. Heartfelt lyrics combine with uniquely pleasing sounds to create a vivid musical landscape.

KELLY NAHWEGAHBOW MARSOLAIS Kelly Nahwegahbow is an Ojibway First Nation jewelry and accessories designer based in Canada, and is a member of The Whitefish River First Nation. It was on the beaches of Turks and Caicos where Kelly first became inspired to design jewelry. The ocean resembled turquoise and the abundance of shells, coral and stones inspired her to create a necklace in the sand. Kelly is a self-taught artist, her jewelry comes from her focus on an intuitive approach; an alternative point of view on the boundaries between art and design. Her company launched in 2006, and since then her creations and visions are continually evolving yet her philosophy remains the same: each creation must be unique. She says with a smile, “You have to put meaning into your creations to make them special and functional That’s what I do...I create from the heart and bring a feeling of love and classic wear-ability to my collections. I design it with the fashion-forward professional, fashionista and socialite women in mind. I enjoy the process of design from start to finish.”
