MISKO’s milestones MISKO is the largest pasta brand in Greece with a long history and indisputable quality. A pasta story that began many decades ago and continues successfully until today in every Greek household.
2016 MISKO presents its “Golden Line”, the only Greek pasta made from single variety wheat. Its exceptional taste, golden yellow color and high protein content makes it the ideal choice for both simple and demanding recipes.
2006 MISKO enters the ready-made sauce market for the first time. It also creates “Flavors of Greece”, a unique pasta line inspired by traditional pasta shapes from various regions of Greece.
2000 A new state-of-the-art, high-capacity plant is established in Eleonas, Thiva, making Greece a global production center for international markets. This investment totals 30 million euros; the biggest one ever made in the pasta market in Southeastern Europe.
2015 MISKO goes "Green" with the investment at Volos Mill, which improved its capacity while upgrading its energy efficiency. It is the first Mill in Greece with international ISO 50001 energy management certification.
1927 MISKO was founded in Piraeus by the Michaelides and the Konstantinis family. Since the first pasta was produced in the families’ workshop in Piraeus, until today, MISKO has been producing delicious, nutritious pasta allowing all of us to offer the best to our family.
1953 New owners take over. The production of MISKO pasta is transferred to Patras, in new, stateof-the-art facilities, and the company becomes the first to package its spaghetti. At the same time, “Akakios”, the company’s trademark and perhaps the most well-known slogan in Greek advertising, is born. 2
2017 A contributor to innovation and development, MISKO launches the “Hellenic Wheat Program”, setting the foundations for sustainable production of high-quality durum wheat in Greece, in addition to creating added value for the producer, the environment and society.
1991 MISKO becomes part of the BARILLA Group of Companies, the world’s largest pasta company, enabling MISKO to expand globally as part of a strong international group.

MISKO Plant
The pasta
The MISKO production plant is a state-of-the-art facility located in Thiva. Over 25,000 tons of MISKO pasta are produced annually, and 35,000 tons of durum wheat are processed in the company’s mill in Volos.
production process is as follows:
First, the semolina is mixed with the water in large containers, basically kneading machines, to create a homogenous dough.
Then, the dough is pressed through suitable molds which give the pasta the desired shape (spaghetti, risoni, tubetti etc).
MISKO Production Line More than 90,000 checks take place per year both in production and in the quality of raw and packaging materials.
The pasta is then placed in closed chambers into which hot air is channeled, and then dried in a controlled manner. Drying helps to give the pasta its final quality characteristics and long shelf life, which makes it last for a long time outside the fridge while maintaining its quality and nutritional value.
Then, the pasta is cooled down to reach room temperature and be ready for packaging.
