CENTENNIAL LIVESTOCK AUCTION, FT. COLLINS, CO Tons Offered: 1175

Last Month: 960

The hay market was under a lot of stress. The old crop hay took the biggest hit. Understand though that that hay was a year old and had a lot of rain. New crop hay alfalfa was the most sought after. This time of the year the big buyers are the dairy’s. The ranch people are not ready to buy hay this time of the year. Please read representative sales. Next hay sale is July 25, 2015.

GREELEY: 970-353-4121 CALL TOLL FREE: 1-800-791-BEEF 1 MILE NORTH OF GREELEY, OFF HWY 85

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

In comparison to last week, prices were higher in all classes of cattle. Lean, well muscled bulls were nicely represented out of LaSalle and Lucerne and Panaca, NV and ranged from $140158.50. Panaca, NV also had a good showing with lean beef cows. All lean beef cows ranged $114.50-125.00. Lean cows on the young side ranged in the $120’s. Fleshier beef cows ranged $106.00-110.50. If cows showed any extra fill or had any flaws, the price certainly reflected such. Holstein cows were only slightly higher than last week with lean cows ranging $103.50115.00. Fleshier Holstein cows sold better today than they have in the past several months and ranged $109.50-115.50. Some market ready, crossbred, fat heifers from Loveland averaged 1270# at $122.35.
