STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to a week ago: Slaughter lambs traded steady to sharply higher on a light test of quality lambs. Feeder lambs were mostly steady on a very light test. Slaughter ewes were 5.00 – 10.00 lower. In the goats, slaughter kids traded 4.00 to sharply higher, while slaughter nannies/ does traded 5.00 – 10.00 higher. Slaughter bucks/billies and wethers traded sharply higher. Trade activity and demand were moderate to good. In the sheep supply 26% slaughter lambs, 11% feeder lambs and 63% slaughter ewes and bucks. The goat supply consisted of 72% slaughter kids, 20% slaughter nannies/does and the balance slaughter billies and wethers. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted. IDENTIFICATION CODE: CWT = BY THE HUNDRED WEIGHT

STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to last week: Feeder steers were mostly higher. Feeder heifers were unevenly steady. There was an increased demand for steers and heifers over 600 lbs. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate to good. Today’s run of cattle consisted heavily of pre-conditioned weaned cattle and replacement heifers. The supply comprised of 98% feeder cattle with the balance being bred cows and pairs.
