SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS Parade
The Greeley Stampede 4th of July parade is here again. This is a traditional event that brings families back year after year. The parade is showcases over 130 entries and attracting tens of thousands of eager spectators. Floats, bands and equestrian entries from all over Colorado and many neighboring states line up to celebrate our Nation’s Independence and Colorado’s Western heritage. The parade runs north along historic 10th Avenue starting amidst the beautiful University of Northern Colorado campus at 19th Street and ends on 5th Street beyond historic Lincoln Park. The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. sharp on Friday, July 4th and will be led by this year’s Grand Marshals, Mike and Nomie Ketterling. This year, if you are unable to watch the parade in person…no worries, you can catch it on your computer as we stream it live at greeleystampede.org for watchers around the globe. The Stampede committee appreciates the continued partnership of Noble Energy in helping to provide the official committee parade transportation, a Beautiful Stage Coach.
American Bullfighting Presented by Chevy Made For Colorado
This is truly man against beast, with modern day gladiators risking everything in a ninety second match. The rodeo athletes are judged on how well they maneuver around a ferocious bull. Death defying feats are attempted such as jumping over a bull and staying within inches of the bull’s head. Basically a high stakes game of “Tag Your It”, American Bullfighting is one of the most dangerous and exciting sports on dirt. Based roughly off of similar events, the American Bullfighting consists of heats of three bullfighters, the winner from each heat advancing to the Championship heat where we crown the event champion.
