Hello Fairbanks! What an amazing year you have given us at Green Star! The outpouring of support we’ve received from the Interior has allowed us to expand our programs and services while dreaming big for the future. Your faithfulness to our Electronics Recycling Depot has allowed us to ship a record number of electronics to be recycled. Because of you, more Interior residents and businesses are interested in increasing the recycling available in our community and reducing waste. You have welcomed me as the new Executive Director. You have encouraged the development of Recycling Curriculum Kits to assist local teachers incorporate recycling into your children’s education. You participated in our first fundraiser, a community clothing swap called Swap-o-Rama and you helped us provide Special Event Recycling at the Midnight Sun Festival, the Tanana Valley State Fair and the Go Winter! Expo. As we continue to progress through 2015, I’m happy to report that you’ve helped Green Star maintain a stable financial situation and set us up for further growth and expansion. With your continued support, we anticipate exciting things to come! Thank you for making 2014 a remarkable year! It has been my pleasure to serve you as Green Star encourages and enables our community to reduce waste and increase recycling. Sincerely, Becca Brado Executive Director
