Thursday field trips are included in their fun-filled week. Your family is welcome to join your camper for

an onsite family picnic on Friday complete with songs, skits and camper recognition.

PIRATE’S JOURNEY

Week 1, June 10-14 Explore a variety of different art materials as we paint, glue, sculpt and create unique treasures. We’ll use our imagination to make everyday things extra special. A Thursday field trip to a local craft store will be one of the many highlights of the fun-filled week.

Week 6, July 15-19 Arrgh, is that a pirate ship we see? We’ll imagine Kamp Kermit as a far-away land filled with adventure and challenges. This week we will sail over to YMCA Camp Wabansi to explore their pirate playground and search for hidden treasure.

Week 2, June 17-21 We’re challenging the sports world this week as we run, jump and play our way through the adventures of sports of all kinds! Our field trip will be to a local sports complex.

Week 7, July 22-26 Let’s explore our natural surroundings, learn about the great outdoors and navigate a scavenger hunt, all while keeping a lookout for animal tracks. Our field trip will be to the N.E.W. Zoo.*

MAGICAL KINGDOM

GROWING GOURMETS

Week 3, June 24-28 Whether your little camper is a prince, a princess or a knight in shining armor, we will be exploring the imaginary world of the enchanted kingdom. Our field trip will take us to the Green Bay Children’s Museum* where campers can use their imaginations to be anything they’d like.

Week 8, July 29-August 2 We will be little chefs for the week as we create fun snacks and explore the world of yummy food! Let’s see what our growing gourmets will discover on our field trip to a nearby restaurant where we will get a behind-the-scenes kitchen tour and learn about their daily work!

Week 5, July 8-12 Shake, rattle and roll our way through an exciting week of making our own music! We’ll try out musical instruments, explore rhythm and create songs. The Thursday field trip will take us to a place where songs and music are all part of a day’s work.

Week 9, August 5-9 We’re brave and we’re bold! No villains stand a chance when they meet up with us! We’ll transform ourselves into superheroes through costumes, play, and challenges. On Thursday, we’ll set out to conquer the world of Bay Beach Amusement Park*.

backyard gardeners Week 10, August 12-16 Our little gardeners will learn all about the plants, fruits and vegetables that can be grown in your own backyard and how to incorporate a more green approach to everyday living. This week’s field trip will take us to the Green Bay Botanical Gardens*.

junior COUNSELOR Offered all sessions, ages 11 and up Spend a week learning leadership skills and techniques to last a lifetime. During your week as a JC, you will have the opportunity to work side by side with our counselors. Your journey in the JC program will include how to lead a group of campers, teach arts & crafts and games, and how to work in a group with your fellow JCs. If you decide to join us for more than one week of the program, you’ll build upon your group management skills by taking on a more active role and work side by side with our counselors. *Junior Counselors are welcome to register for up to four weeks of the program.

Before and After Camp Care

Your 5-10 year old child will experience social development, boost their self esteem, learn new skills, and gain character values while surrounded by our caring staff in an urban camp setting.

$15 per child, per week of camp Before and After Camp Care is offered at the West Side YMCA, Langlade School and the Downtown YMCA. Care begins at 7:00 am and concludes at 6:00 pm. You may sign up for this care when you register for camp.

Fore!

Week 1 June 10-14 We’re starting off the summer on the wild side. During the week we will learn about all kinds of creatures. Our safari will take us to the N.E.W. Zoo* to explore what animals live there.

Week 5 July 8-12 We’ll spend our mornings with staff from The First Tee® working on our swings and perfecting our putts. On Friday, we’ll travel to Mr. Golf* to practice our new skills.

Week 2 June 17-21 Get your thinking caps on as we explore the wonderful world of inventions and experiments. A special guest scientist will lead us into this all-around messy fun week!

Week 6 July 15-19 Learn what it’s like to live on a farm. Get ready for some ole fashion fun from meeting farm animals to making your own homemade ice cream. Yummy!

wet n’ wild

Week 7 July 22-26 It’ll be a kickin’ good time as we learn karate moves. We’ll learn punches, kicks and self defense. All skills introduced will be specific to age and development. Parents can join us on Friday for our Karate Demonstration*.

Week 3 June 24-28 Summer’s here, so let’s cool off at the Resch Aquatic Center*. Water games and fun will guarantee that no one stays dry this week at KIDS Camp!

Face painting, wacky colored hair and a picnic at Meadowbrook Park* are just some of the great activities happening during this short week at KIDS Camp. Happy Birthday, America!

Every Day’s a Holiday

Week 9 August 5-9 It’s time to step up to the plate for games galore & sports of all sorts. We’re going to hit one out of the park this week and we’ll travel to Appleton to watch the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers* at an afternoon game.

Week 10 August 12-16 It’s a celebration all week long. We’ll dress up in Halloween costumes, make Valentine’s Day cards, decorate the KIDS Camp Christmas tree, and so much more. Our celebration will include Platy’s Birthday Party with games and a bounce house.

When your child tells you about their adventures at YMCA Camp Wabansi, you’ll hear all about boating, swimming, singing camp songs, shooting bows and arrows, building campfires, creating art, close encounters with wildlife, playing sports, taking nature hikes, team-building, and endless fun. In fact, they are returning home with new skills, interests, character values, and amazing memories. Camp Wabansi is just a short bus ride from Green Bay located in Door County, Wisconsin. Camp is nestled in 35 wooded acres on an incredible Green Bay waterfront and is equipped with modern restrooms. We are rich in traditions - we’ve been providing quality summer day camp for over 60 years! Safety is our #1 priority. We are accredited by the American Camp Association by satisfying hundreds of programming and safety standards. Campers are carefully placed into small groups with other campers of similar age and same gender. Our counselors ride the bus with the campers and they are all certified in CPR and First Aid. Campers bring their own bag lunches during the week. We provide an afternoon snack each day. Some campers sign up with a friend, but many don’t and they make lots of new friends. Come for one week, or come for more! With a variety of themes and specialty camps, the camp experience is different every single week. “Camp has been a huge contributor to both of my kids’ senses of positive self-esteem. I love that.”

It’s Family Night! Enjoy a grilled hot dog dinner, tour camp, meet your child’s counselor and watch some great camper skits and recognition. Campers can choose to bunk down in the cabins with their new friends and counselors with the optional Overnight Adventure (additional fee of $30).

Offered weeks 3 and 8. Feeling adventurous? Visit the county park to play some disc golf, kayak the shores of the bay, and even spend a day exploring Potawatomi State Park. On Thursday night, pitch your tents and hang out around your own campfire at camp! Fishing Camp

Offered weeks 3 and 6. Calling all anglers! Fantastic fishing adventures await you. Learn all about Wisconsin fishing regulations and explore the different kinds of fish in Green Bay as you travel to Chaudoir’s Dock and Little Sturgeon marina. Camp provides all the equipment you need, but feel free to bring your own if you’d like. This popular program fills fast – don’t let “the big one” get away! Young Artists

Offered weeks 3 and 6. Spend two days at the Hands-On Art Studio in Fish Creek, WI with professional artists to create art beyond your wildest imagination. Projects may include metalworking, ceramics, painting, and mosaics. You will also design and create a permanent project that will be on display at Camp Wabansi for years to come. Horse Camp

Offered weeks 2, 5 and 7. Horse lovers will spend two days at the ranch learning about good horsemanship and riding techniques. Learn what it takes to care for horses by grooming, saddling, and feeding them. Top off your time at the corral with individual ring lessons in the arena tailored to your ability level. Survivor 1

Offered weeks 5 and 7. Your tribe will be challenged with many outdoor skills including orienteering, fire-building, basic first-aid, raft-building and making shelters. You will learn fundamental leadership qualities as you are mentored by a counselor, team-build with other teens, and discover how to become a solid role model for others. Junior Counselor

Assistant Counselor

Offered all sessions, ages 16 & 17 If you are looking to fully realize your leadership potential, the Assistant Counselor (AC) program is the final step in Camp Wabansi’s leadership progression. Plan and lead camp activities, assist in the Camp Store, accompany special groups on outof-camp trips, and work side by side with the Camp Wabansi counselors to learn what it takes to become a wellrounded staff member. AC’s are selected for this competitive program by application and interview. Download the AC application at www.CampWabansi.org. There is no camp fee for Assistant Counselors.

traditional Overnight Camp Ages 7-14 Join us for our 4-day or 6-day resident camp programs for the traditional overnight Y Camp experience of exploring the beautiful outdoors and taking part in fun-filled camp activities. Throughout your week at U-Nah-Li-Ya, you will make incredible friendships and memories. Your cabin group of 6-7 other campers of your same age and gender will be guided by an enthusiastic, dedicated camp counselor. You will take part in your chosen morning program areas, cabin group activities, camp games, recreation times, and so much more. Our 4-day resident camp is a natural progression point from a day camp experience to the overnight program, or for a first time camper. This program is offered for ages 7-10 for weeks 1, 2, and 8. Our popular 6-day resident camp program is offered each week of the summer and is designed for campers ages 8-14.

Ages 11-14 Our specialty camps offer the best of both worlds by blending the traditional overnight camp program activities with the added excitement of a specialty area each day. Health forms are required and must be submitted to camp at least 2 weeks prior to your child’s camp session. Find forms online at www.greenbayymca.org. The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families requires that each participant’s immunization history be on file at the site in case of emergency. The fee for your first week of camp is due in full at the time of registration. If you are registering for multiple weeks of day camp, the balance for remaining weeks of camp will be due on June 1, 2013. You must arrange for automatic credit card or bank draft payment at the time of registration. YMCA membership is not required for participation.

A customized payment plan is available to assist in the payment of camp fees prior to your child’s camp session. Please contact the appropriate Camp Director to make arrangements.

Day Camp Cancellation / Refund Policy

A two-week written notice is required to cancel your child’s week of camp and receive any refund. If appropriate written notice is provided, you will receive your camp payment back minus a $25 cancellation fee per child, per camp. Cancellations should be sent directly to the Camp Director. No refunds will be given with less than a two-week notice.

The Y has a pricing model that makes participation accessible and affordable through a variety of contributions to the Y’s annual Strong Kids Campaign.
