HONEST ¡ HANDMADE ¡ EVERYDAY We are Anne and Siouxsan, better known as the Green Daffodil Girls.

With the goal to create a quality candle and have some fun, we decided, back in 2006, to take on the task of developing a soy candle that smelled and burned just as it should, perfect! After loads of tedious testing we found success and thus Green Daffodil was born. From that point we have expanded into lip balm, soap, lotion, room mist, and unique gift sets, with more to come!

We are proud to offer our customers honest handmade products that are safe for both your body and the environment. All of our products are vegan, phthalate free, paraben-free and gluten-free. We hand-pour everything at our studio in small batches to ensure the highest quality. We use high quality essential oils or phthalate-free fragrance oils to scent all of our products and strive to smell exactly as the name says. For our signature look, we add dried herbs to our candles and soap for natural color. We also use minimal packaging on purpose to lessen our carbon footprint.

We know how lucky we are to create something we love and spread joy to others.

Soy Candles: More burn for your buck!

Our candles are made with 100% American soy wax with lead-free all cotton wicks. We scent the candles with either high-end essential oils or phthalate-free fragrance oils. We are known for our dead-on scents that we have painstakingly chosen. We add dried herbs for a dash of natural color, which is our signature look. Each candle includes a care sticker to insure the best burn!

Lip Balm Our wax-free soy lip balm includes SPF 15 and vitamin E that penetrates into your skin for extra care and long lasting protection. We use only essential or flavor oils to scent our lip balm, so they are lip-smacking safe. We chose a unique oval shape tube to keep your lip balm from rolling off your desk or night stand and they also fit nicely into your pocket.

We have testers for your customers to sniff and try on the backs of their hands. They come in a clear tube, are filled halfway and say “tester� on them. Also available is a kraft colored display box bearing our logo. It holds about 12 tubes and is a perfect way to display our lip balm on your counter for easy point of purchase sales.

Bar Soap Our bars of soap are made cold process with a base of pure olive, palm and coconut oils. We use only essential or body safe fragrance oils so they can be used over the entire body to clean and moisturize for both dry and oily skin types. Dried herbs are added for a little natural color. Each bar is carefully hand-cut, cured, and wrapped with handmade papers. They fit perfectly into your hand and weigh about 2.5oz each.

We also offer our bar soap in super cute Soap & Washcloth gift kits. Here you will get a soap paired with a hand-crocheted square cotton wash cloth, secured with colored raffia and hang tag. The cloths come in a variety of colors and we match them up with a coordinating soap scent for a perfect readymade gift.

Roll-On Essential Oils Our roll-on essential oils are a perfect solution for handy aromatherapy! We use body safe essential oils combined with argan oil, which is non-greasy and absorbs quickly into your skin. Each roll-on is hand poured into an amber glass bottle with a steel roller ball for smooth application. In general, we suggest that consumers use them on their temples, neck, shoulders and bottoms of their feet, although it can be applied to others spots as well. Tester bottles are recommended so your customers can try before they buy!

Room Mist Our all-natural, handmade mist is formulated to be a triple-use product; safe for the room, linens and the body. It is a great way to freshen up any room, bedding, the hamper, your car, a stale hotel room or the office as well as being a mild perfume. It contains witch hazel and aloe, so it’s non-staining and won’t dissipate quickly. Each mist is hand-poured into an easy to use 4oz spray bottle. They are scented with the same body safe essential or fragrance oils that we use with all of our products.

Soy Lotion Our handmade lotion base is made with nonhydrogenated soy lipids which are known to be loaded with healing vitamin E and antioxidants.

It goes on silky smooth and absorbs into your skin quickly. A little goes a long way. It is an all body moisturizer, including your face. We scent our lotions with the same body safe essential or fragrance oils that we use with all of our products.

We have two sizes available in our lotion: a 2oz mini lotion, which is perfectly purse sized and an 8oz pump lotion bottle. A tester is available in a 4oz pump, so your customers can try before they buy!

Dish Kits Our clever dish kits combine a couple of our handmade products assembled together to create an easy, unique, gift giving solution. We start with our 4oz candle tin and pair it up with either a matching bar of soap or a coordinating lip balm flavor. They are then stacked onto a plant-based biodegradable dish and finished off with colorful raffia and a hang tag.

Holiday and Seasonal The Holidays and bath & body products go hand in hand! We know from our own retail location that customers love to get and give Holiday scented products. From our lip balm, soap, mini lotion and tealights, which make perfect stocking stuffers, to our festive gift sets for folks on the go. Also our seasonal scented soy candles and room mists will help set the mood for sure!

Our core Christmas fragrances are Holiday Tree, Cranberry Orange and Peppermint Stick. These scents come with their own individual special Holiday themed labels to add to the cheer. We also leave room to add new scents each year, so stay tuned!

Regional Scents Giving a shout out to your favorite region is all the trend. We have put together a small Michigan collection to show you how to spread the love from your corner of this great state. Try our Traverse City Cherry, Hartwick Pines Hike, Sleeping Bear Dunes Breeze, Pictured Rocks Campfire, and Mackinac Island Fudge. This collection is available in our soy candles and select other products.

We are also open to helping you promote your region or local events. This is different from a private label since everything on the label remains the same except a name change. The name must pertain to an area, landmark, or public event, not a store. Examples might be Door County Cherry, Lake Tahoe Breeze, Badlands Campfire... you get the idea. In general this can be a great option to slip within our everyday collection for promoting what is happening in your area and lends itself as the perfect handmade souvenir for your customers. We would love to personally consult with you about any ideas you have.

Need some inspiration?

Okay, now that you are ordering our bath & body products, you might wonder how to display them?

Well, our candles are fun grouped in a cabinet with one of each scent open for sniffing. If you are getting our dish kits, individual candles can help sell them since you can smell an open one. Our lip balm looks super cute in a muffin tin as shown on the lip balm page or in our handy point of purchase box shown here. Our bars of soap work well on shelves or in small baskets as do the mini lotions. It is always best to order testers for the lotion so people can try it otherwise someone will turn one of your retail bottles into a tester...oops! Our tealights look cool hung up for easy grabbing.

Free signage as seen on this page is provided to our new wholesale customers and a framed bio is available if requested to create the perfect Green Daffodil area! We find having a dedicated presence with a well stocked display of our products is very important and is easy since we have no minimums on reorders. Of course burning our candles in you store helps too!

Shipping: Your items are handmade just for you; please allow 15 days. We charge a flat rate of 15% for orders under $500. and 10% for over $500. Products only ship after payment has cleared. All orders will be shipped via UPS or USPS Priority Mail. We are a “melty” product, so we are mindful when we ship out your orders in the summer to ensure they get to you safely.

Sales tools: We will provide helpful signage for your displays, like our Made in the USA logo sign, and health information sign and an artist’s statement if you wish. We also encourage folks to grab images off of our web site and social media platforms to help with your marketing.

FAQ’s Why Soy? With soy wax you will get a longer burning, soot-free, eco-friendly candle that has a wonderful scent throw.

Our 100% soy wax comes from American farmers, is petroleum-free, is biodegradable, is a renewable resource and carcinogen-free.

Do your candles smell when they burn?

Yes, soy is known for its wonderful scent throw. It is because soy oil burns at such a low temperature that it only warms the oils, unlike petroleum, which burns so hot it eliminates the fragrance.

Why do I need testers?

We have found them to be a critical tool for increasing sales. People really want to smell and feel the lip balm or lotion before they buy it.

What are phthalates?

They are cheap plastic fillers sometimes used in fragrance oils. We do not use these types of oils, since they are unhealthy and inferior.

Do you sell to other stores in my area?

Well, our products are eco-friendly or “green” and daffodils are a flower that everyone loves, is cheery and offers hope. So, Green Daffodil = Eco-Happy in our minds!

We would love to say that our products are exclusive to your store, but we also need to do what is best for our cottage business. We are very mindful of where our products are sold and work with all stores to make sure everyone is happy. We are honest and open to making it work!

Do you Private Label?

How long does it take to get my order?

We can private label, but there is an additional fee for each label. We usually recommend to folks wanting to go that route to pick one scent to be their signature scent and private label just that.

It takes two weeks or less as long as we have no backorders from our suppliers. Our soap does take 4 to 6 weeks to cure, so if we are out-of-stock there can be a delay with that product.

How did you get your name?

How long have you been in business?

Green Daffodil was born during a very cold Michigan winter in 2006, and started in Siouxsan’s basement.

We came above ground to our current studio space in 2009. Here is where we make our products and are open to the public to shop and enjoy all the smells.

What is the shelf life of your goods?

Everything is made to order to ensure freshness and we recommend that you store our products in a cool dry location and use within a year.

Are you sisters?

No, but we act like it. We spend more time together than we do with our husbands.

Who makes your stuff?

Little elves....not really, we do! From developing new scents, pouring, packaging, and shipping we do it all as a two person operation. We are always happy to personally take your call for an order.
