DAY 1: Arrival with Atlantic Airways. Pick up your rental car at the airport. We recommend a visit to the small village of Gásadalur. From here, you can walk on the marked nature trails and enjoy the impressive view over Tindhólm and the beautiful waterfall that runs in to the ocean. Spend the night in Vágar. DAY 2: We recommend going on the two-hour boat trip to Vestmanna sea cliffs. The boat takes you in between the cliffs and in to grottoes. Continue on to the village of Tjørnuvík, surrounded by steep mountains. Here you can see the impressive rock formations the Giant and the Witch. Drive via the bridge to the island of Eysturoy. Spend the night in Eysturoy. Boat trip is not included. Must be pre-booked . DAY 3: Enjoy the day at the village of Gjógv, which is known for its unique natural harbor. Here it is possible to hike on your own and enjoy the view of the cliffs and the beautiful valley Ambadalur. Hiking maps are available in
Hotel Gjáargarður in Gjógv. Spend the night in Eysturoy. DAY 4: From Leirvík you drive through the subsea tunnel to the town of Klaksvík. The tunnel is decorated with lights by the famous Faroese artist Tróndur Patursson. From Klaksvík it is possible to explore the other Northern Islands, each offering dramatic landscapes. The village of Viðareiði, on Viðoy, is definitely is worth a visit. Spend the night in the Northern Islands. DAY 5: We suggest that you visit the island of Kunoy in the morning. From the tiny village of Kunoy is a beautiful view of the island of Kalsoy. Above the village is a small cosy park. Back on Eysturoy we recommend driving to Sølda fjørður to visit a private home with an impressive garden. Here coffee and cake will be served. Spend the night in Tórshavn. Visit the Faroese is not included. Must be pre-booked.

DAY 6: Visit the beautiful and green island of Sandoy, also called the Saga-island. The island has a wealth of history and wonderful nature. Take the ferry from the harbor Gamlarætt to the village of Skopun. Do not miss the villages of Dalur and Húsavík which lie in beautiful surroundings. Spend the night in Tórshavn. Incl. return ferry to the island of Sandoy.
DAY 7: Enjoy the day in Tórshavn, but don’t forget to visit the village of Kirkjubøur which is the Faroe Islands’ historical and cultural center. The picturesque old farm is home to a family who for 17 generations have run the farmstead and ecclesiastic site. See the unfinished Magnus Cathedral and the small medieval church of St.Olav. Spend the night in Tórshavn. DAY 8: Rental car is returned at the airport. Departure with Atlantic Airways. PLEASE NOTE: B&Bs are with shared facilities. Overnight accommodation may vary from those listed in the program. Suitable for children.
