Day 1: Direct flight from Iceland to the Faroe Islands. Pick up rental car. Drive along the coast and through colourful villages. From the village of Eiði drive via the panorama road to the scenic village of Gjógv. On route, see the rock formations, the Giant and the Witch, and the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands, Slættaratindur (882 m).
Monday: Direct flight from Iceland. Upon arrival, driver/ guide will pick you up at the airport. Visit the unique village of Gásadalur to enjoy the impressive view of the village with its characteristic waterfall that runs into the ocean. On the drive towards Tórshavn, you will take the scenic mountain road, and make a photo stop at Norðadalsskarð, to enjoy the beautiful view of the nearby island, Koltur. In the evening you have reservations at Restaurant Áarstova, a little gem located in an old heritage protected building in the heart of Tórshavn. It is a charming place with exposed beams, small doors and odd angles. This place is all about ambiance and great food.

Day 2: Enjoy your day in Gjógv, known for its natural harbour, and a must see when visiting the Faroe Islands. Walk around in the magnificent nature and relax on Crown Princess Mary´s bench with breath taking views of the nearby islands. In the afternoon, drive to a nearby village to visit a private home to enjoy a coffee, cake and a nice chat with your host.
Day 3: Drive to the capital, Tórshavn and enjoy a private City walk. Walk through the old part of Tórshavn, Reyn and Tinganes. When you enter the old town, you will find yourself in a confusion of lanes and narrow passages, steps and rocks and tiny black-tarred houses, a genuine town from the Middle Ages. This area not only unique in the Faroes but in the world. On your own, visit the village of Kirkjubøur, which is the historical and cultural centre. The evening is at your own leisure. You will find various restaurants and cafés where you can have excellent food. Day 4: Depart with direct flight to Iceland.

Tuesday: Before leaving Tórshavn, your guide will take you on a City Walk through
the old part of town to explore a genuine town dating from the middle Ages. Continue by car, and drive along the coast and through small colourful villages until you reach the village of Gjógv, known for its picturesque scenery dotted with multicoloured houses and its natural harbour. On route, see the historical stacks, Giant and the Witch, and the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands, Slættaratindur (882 m). In Gjógv, you have time to walk around in the magnificent nature and relax on Crown Princess Mary´s bench with breathtaking scenery all around you. Lunch served in a private Faroese home. Continue to the airport. Depart with direct flight to Iceland.

– Friday to Monday
Saturday: Explore Tórshavn on your own. See contemporary Faroese art, fine craft and look at exquisite Faroese designed wool ware in the latest fashion. Visit the old bookstore and the cafe Kaffihúsið down by the harbour. Excursion to the Vestmanna sea cliffs. Via the mountain road to the village Vestmanna where the excursion boat awaits. The boat will take you through narrow sounds, into deep grottoes carved by the surf through ages, and close to the over 1500 feet high-rise cliffs. The evening is at your own leisure, but we suggest dinner at Restaurant Áarstova, an old protected building in the old part of town.
Sunday: Day tour to the Saga Island of Sandoy and village of Kirkjubøur. Sandoy is one of the most unspoiled islands where one can still experience the traditional Faroese lifestyle. Experience a church visit, fantastic scenic views, small villages and bird cliffs. Before returning to Tórshavn, you will make a stop in Kirkjubøur that is the Faroe Islands’ historical and cultural centre. The picturesque old farm is home to a family who for 17 generations have run the farmstead and ecclesiastic site. See the unfinished Magnus Cathedral and the small medieval church of St.Olav. The evening is at your own leisure. Monday: Transfer to the airport. Direct flight to Iceland.

– Tuesday to Friday
Wednesday: By ferry from Tórshavn to the neighboring, island Nósloy. At the tourist office you will meet the guide who will take you on a tour of the village. Visit Brunn, a house built of driftwood from the 1600 century and the unique attraction that can only be had on Nólsoy, Rowing Ove’s boat, Diana Victoria. In 1986 Ove rowed alone from the Faroe Islands to the Little Mer maid in Copenhagen. Lunch is served. On your own, you can hike to the top of the island where you have the most beautiful panoramic views of Tórshavn and the nearby islands. Back in Tórshavn walk through the old part of town to explore a genuine town dating from the Middle Ages. The evening is at your own leisure.
