Time for a Tune-Up? Check out biofield tuning

BY RIC COGGINS

WWith no particular intention on my part, the subject of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) has interwoven itself in and throughout this series. Topics such as 5G, WiFi, power lines, smart meters, and even the positive EMFs from the Germandeveloped BEMER device have all been explored and discussed in these pages. In fact, this will not be the first time we will have touched on the magnetic field that emanates from our bodies, but it will likely be the most interesting.

Prior discussions introduced, acknowledged, and described the science which has recognized its existence and even measured this biofield. And while we discussed how discordant EMFs might potentially cause damage to this field, in no way however, did any of the research previously explored seem to indicate that there existed a way to adjust or “tune” our fields. But that is exactly where the work of Eileen Day McKusick will take us today. McKusick is the originator of the sound therapy method she calls Biofield Tuning, and since her first experimentation in 1996, she has trained over 2,000 practitioners in this art worldwide. She is the author of the award-winning and bestselling book, Tuning the Human Biofield: Healing with Vibrational Sound Therapy, and she has a second book upcoming called Electric Body, Electric Health that is set for release in January 2021. Her first book shares her story of how, as a massage therapist, she became interested in the relaxing sound waves emitted from tuning forks, and began experimenting with incorporating sound into her massage practice regimen. Early on, she began noticing that, as she moved the tuning fork in and around her clients’ “space,” the tonal qualities of the sound changed. Sometimes the tone would go sharp, sometimes flat, and even sometimes the sound would “vibrate.” She found that by moving the activated tuning fork back and forth, over the area in space that caused the tonal change, that the tonal change would resolve, and further, that the client would feel benefit. Fascinated by these subtle changes, she began to look for explanations to this phenomenon, but to her surprise, very little information existed which could explain her experiences. It was from this beginning research that McKusick developed the science of Biofield Tuning. Biofield Tuning is a sound therapy methodology that employs the power of sound waves (also electromagnetic) on the human biofield to help alleviate conditions such as pain, anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, emotional overwhelm, digestive issues, adrenal fatigue, and more. It is based on the premise that the human biofield (the energy field that surrounds

and permeates our bodies) is inextricably connected with our conscious and subconscious mind, including all of our memories. All physical, mental and emotional disorders can be perceived as "dissonance" in our energy fields. According to McKusick, “Biofield Tuning is able to diminish and resolve this dissonance and, in doing so, alleviate and even eradicate the corresponding physical, mental and/or emotional symptoms.” During a Biofield Tuning session, a client lies fully clothed on a treatment table or sits upright in a chair, while the practitioner slowly scans the body with an activated tuning fork, beginning from a distance of up to several feet. The practitioner is “feeling” for resistance and turbulence in the client's energy field, as well as listening for any change in the overtones and undertones of the tuning fork that may occur. When the practitioner encounters an enturbulated area, he/she continues to activate the tuning fork and hold it in that spot. Research suggests the body’s organizational energy uses the steady coherent vibrational frequency of the tuning fork to "tune" itself. Soon, the dissonance resolves and the resistance gives way. This seems to correspond to the release of subconsciously held tension in the body. In time, McKusick recognized that certain aspects of her art seemed to dovetail with related sciences, such as that of Energy Medicine. In fact, her instructional Biofield Anatomy Map, used for training and explaining her techniques, clearly displays the Chakra locations. Benefits to clients are both physical and mental. McKusick has evolved to see this process as "consciousness hacking,” a side-door entry if you will, into the psyche. She indicates she is “working with what has been hidden in plain view.” With this technique, McKusick assists people in making changes they otherwise could not make on their own. For me, the most fascinating thing about this course of study is that it works with the premise that rather than being located in the brain, as has been taught by Western science, our memories and yes, even our consciousness, is encoded into our biofield, where it can be “massaged” and discharged, if need be, with the proper frequencies. There is even a component of this science that addresses ancestral upsets. But that’s a topic of its own. As you might guess, there is so much more to this subject than we’ve covered here. It is my hope that I have piqued your interest enough to seek out more information on this practice, and to see what value it might hold for you. McKusick has a number of videos on YouTube where she develops the underlying concepts of her practice, and also demonstrates her techniques on camera. Of course, her book would also be a good place to start. Also, with the more than 2,000 practitioners she has trained, there is likely one near to you. Perhaps you wish to experience a biofield tune-up for yourself!

Nailed It The Dazzle Dry system offers long-lasting, fast-drying, nontoxic nail polish

BY MICHELLE GLICKSMAN

PPicture a nail polish system that’s not a gel, not a hybrid, and not a traditional polish. It lasts, chip-free, for up to two weeks, dries in just five minutes, is vegan, and is nontoxic—free of formaldehyde, TPHP, nitrocellulose, and more.

While it may sound too good to be true, it does exist—and it works. “I believed that there was a need for a nail polish system that air dries in five minutes without the use of UV light, wears chip-free for seven to 14 days, comes off with regular polish removers, and leads to stronger, healthier natural nails,” explains Vivian Valenty, the founder and president of Dazzle Dry. “I also wanted the product to be clean [no toxic, allergenic, or endocrine-disrupting ingredients] because I believe that what we apply on our body impacts our overall health. Creating Dazzle Dry from scratch gave me the assurance that the product will be vegan and produced in an ethical, sustainable way.” It took Valenty, a Chandler, Arizona, resident with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry—with a specialty in bio-organic chemistry—about 10 years to create the product, which launched in 2007. Valenty invented the first UV Top Coat that dried a freshly applied manicure using UV light. “At about the same time, I invented a coating that became the gold standard for making sublimation dye-decorated ceramic articles dishwasher-safe. But it was the statement from the U.S. FDA that spurred me to develop Dazzle Dry. The FDA said that, ‘UV-A is potentially more dangerous than UV-B.’ Although UV-B causes sunburn, the light only penetrates the epidermis, which is composed mainly of dead skin cells, while UV-A goes past the epidermis, through the dermis, and into the subcutaneous layer, where cell activity is happening. “I took this very seriously and started working on what became Dazzle Dry. The name derives from my thought that women will get dazzled by how fast the product dries and how long it will stay on their nails compared to a traditional polish,” she explains. The system is a unique four-step system that includes a nail prep, base coast, lacquer, and top coat. “Spreading the Dazzle Dry knowledge with DIYers and nail industry professionals may just be the easiest thing I have ever done,” says Silva Nahabedian, Dazzle Dry’s director of education. “As a natural nail care specialist for over 23 years, never have I experienced products as distributive and revolutionary as Dazzle Dry. I will tell anyone who will listen about the benefits of this remarkable system, which is designed to solve problems, not create them.” Find Dazzle Dry at www.dazzledry.com, through the Spa Locator found on the website, and in top luxury spas and salons around the world.
