CURVE FOUNDATION

Curvilinear was my second project that I learned how to create a 3D form using wood. For this project, I got inspired by the flame’s form

HANGER FOUNDATION

PROCESS This is some of my quick sketches to get the ideas and solve problems. It was my second project that I studied at Sanjose state. I did some mock ups on lazer cut to feel the actual model on my hand.

The concept is for users who need a quick tool to hang his or her clothes .It is fast, convenient and easy to carry around.

Using

cardboard

as material can save user’s money and it is good for environment.

Inspirations

Inspired by the beauty of nature, I used leaf form to present my idea and it also connected to my theme.

Final Product The concept of this was for people who love to travel into forest to relax with their family. This design is mean for public , so people can use it for free and enjoy nature. The design is from a leaf shape which means purify, calm and relax.

pain wrist

How do users complain about it? This is the result I found online and asked different users to collect information such as chef, home user, and baker. The diagram show the most common problems that users have to experiences.

too much forced create pain wrist

doesnt fit well in user’s palm Difficult to hold handle is too small

What causes ? A typical balloon whisk’s handle causes injuries to hand wrist due to poorly ergonomic design. The reasons that cause problems are the handle is not extend past the entire palm. The straight handles forced user to bend the wrist too much.

PROCESS

Mock ups testing

Sketches Variation of ideas to solve the problems. Some of my begining sketches were just showing different shapes and forms.I added more details later till the end.

FINAL DESIGN

Whisk is a kitchen tool that almost every family has one in the kitchen. It should be designing to help user can finish the task perfectly without any problem.

NIKE

SELF CHECKOUT Group Project

Working Process

Store Analysis Nike Outlet Factory store is one of the largest athelic stores locate at Milpiltas, many custumers go there to shop and currently creates issuses. Consumers have to wait a long line to check out. The store is big and there is no self checkout service. It is also hard to find the right items because there are many products and they are not following order. Many customers but there are few helper.

Sketches & final direction Working together as a group, we did expend many ideas and try to solve problems and finalize the final Ideas as we much as we can.

Model Making Discussing how users used the self checkout system, each one of us had to test to see different height and arm’s position.

Final Concept with simple style self checkout machine. it’s more convenience, easier and useful for Nike’s customer.

TECHONOLOGY FOCUS

Power A wireless router is simply a router that connects to your computer (or computers) using radio waves instead of cables. It contains a very low-power radio transmitter and receiver, with a maximum range of about 90 meters or 300 ft, depending on what your walls are made of and what other electrical equipment is nearby. The router can send and receive Internet data to any computer in your home that is also equipped with wireless access.

Internet • Internet technology is the ability of the Internet to transmit information and data through different servers and systems.). •Llarge database where all different types of information can be passed and transmitted. • It allowed people who were accustomed to access or creating blog, programing or send many information to others

PROBLEM STATEMENT The goal is using the upconmming teachnology to create a wireless speaker that satify both functional and aethetic to users. This new speaker is base on an existing speaker product on the market, however, it is more desiable dued to different materials from

Bluetooth • A technology standard for exchanging data over short distances. using short-wavelength UHF radio waves in the ISM band from 2.4 to 2.485 GHz[4]) from fixed and mobile devices, and building personal area networks (PANs) • Enables the function to share voice, data, photos, and other information wireless

PAVIMENTO NEW WAYS OF PLAYING MUSIC

DEFINE ENTERTAINMENT Music is a way of bring people together, trigger the emotions and transcend the boundaries of hearts and minds, it is a harmony, and a universal public good that knows no boundaries. Playing music can help individual share his or her emotional feeling that can’t express any either way

HISTORY The piano is founded on earlier technological innovations. The 14th and 15th Centuries, the first piano was built about the year 1700 or 1698. The the natural keys were black while the accidentals were white. It was Sebastian LeBlanc who suggested that the black and white keys be switched. By making the white Keys, laid out side by side it will help user would “feel” identical. The black keys skinny and shorter, the pianist develops a “feel” for keyboard geography. The black keys can be distinguished by the feel, because of how they are grouped; one set of two black keys and the second set of three black keys. Up until now, the black and white key remains the same.

WHY PEOPLE GIVE UP ON PLAYING PIANO? People tend to give up on playing music due to many reason such as they can’t read music sheet , they don’t know any music theory or structures. Feeling frustrated when they can’t play it right . These problems can affect anyone who plays music at the first time. Frustrated will make people give up, therefore I want to design a product that can help people learn by playing it

RESEARCH

Existing Technology Haptic technology, haptics, or kinesthetic communication, is tactile feedback technology which recreates the sense of touch by applying forces, vibrations, or motions to the user. Haptic devices may incorporate tactile sensors that measure forces exerted by the user on the interface. Haptic technology has made it possible to investigate how the human sense of touch works by allowing the creation of carefully controlled haptic virtual objects.

Tactus technology, Tactus Technology harnessed microfluidics to create a special new tactile layer in touchscreens. The technology dynamically produces physical bumps on soft keys to approximate the experience of typing on a real keyboard

INSPIRATION Inspired by geometry objects combine with sleek finished. The goal is to design an entertainment device that fit with modern, contemporary house. Using black and gray as the main color because according to scientist, those two colors are magnetic and sophisticated. Grey is the color of compromise, solid and stable, creating a sense of calm and composure, relief from a chaotic world. In addition Black is the color of power, glamour, security, emotional safe.
