Our councils and committees are involved in all aspects of helping the Association achieve annual goals and objectives. Councils and committees provide a mixture of educational programs, marketing and networking events throughout the year.

Below is a brief overview of primary areas of focus for each of our councils and committees. If you want to learn more, reach out to any of the chairs as well as the GBA staff. We welcome your participation, ideas and involvement in our planning teams.

Membership Team | Tom Hall & Sal Cagno

•Serve as Ambassadors for our association helping members find places to connect

•Actively participate in membership meetings & events

•Invite and sponsor prospective members to join

•Assist with marketing & communications, including social media promotions

Construction Careers | Will Yearns & Kevin Pegram

•Develop annual scholarship program with sustainable funding sources

•Expand partnerships with Builders Bridge, Guilford County Schools, GTCC and other organizations focused on workforce development…building greater awareness and interest for construction careers

•Identify members to provide jobsite tours, classroom visits, video talks, summer internships, job shadowing opportunities for students

Committees

•Associates Council | Rebecca Lenz

Plan special membership events including annual Associates Expo/Builder Appreciation Night

•Builders Council

Work closely with TREBIC regarding emerging local issues and concerns…task forces formed as needed…provide annual Continuing Education classes for general contractors

Serve as financial advisors for the Association…prepare annual budget and conduct quarterly financial review

•Parade of Homes | Ray Bullins

Plan scattered site new home tours in the spring and fall… providing opportunity to market new construction, products and services through open houses and virtual tours

•Special Events

Plan membership events providing marketing & networking for members

•Young Professionals | Brittni Cooke & David Richardson

Plan networking and educational events to engage and involve younger industry members

Councils

Councils are affiliated with NAHB and/or NCHBA…requiring annual dues and GBA membership. Council Membership Directories on website serve as an industry resource for consumers and members.

•Professional in Women Building (PWB) | Kathy Haines & Noelle Graves

Provide education, networking and community service opportunities promoting and engaging women in construction… work in conjunction with Construction Careers committee to build greater awareness and interest in construction opportunities for women

•Remodelers Council | Cathi Roberts & Tim Marion

Provide education, networking and community service opportunities for members involved in residential remodeling; promote value of professional renovations to consumers through sponsorship of the annual Tour of Remodeled Homes

•Triad Sales & Marketing Council | Eric Apple

Provide education and networking opportunities for members involved in new home and residential real estate and associated services

•Triad Green Building Council | Joan Swift

Provide education and networking opportunities for industry members engaged in the construction of high-performance homes and energy efficient renovations, products and service
