CAMP GFA • PLAY • LEARN • EXPLORE
At Camp GFA, we believe that summer should
be full of magical moments and memories that will last a lifetime. We offer a traditional summer camp that allows children to explore their potential, use their imagination and develop friendships. Our wish is that every child at Camp GFA will experience happy and full days of fun and play.
CAMP DAY 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Grades K - 5
Camp opens with a spirited morning rally led by the
counselors and specialists. Each group of campers then moves through 3 fifty-minute activity periods, which include Athletics, Arts & Crafts, and Nature Explorations. These activities are taught by specialists and assisted by counselors. All activities are age appropriate and focused on the developmental needs of each age group.
Group counselors also lead special activities
that respond to the particular interests, skills, talents, and developmental age of the children, and involve both team and non-competitive play. All children bring their own lunches and eat with their assigned groups.
After lunch, counselors lead quiet time,
consisting of drawing, board games, music, storytelling, and reading. Then comes beach time, when campers are driven to a local beach for swimming and beach activities. A certified lifeguard is always on duty.
We offer 4 one-week sessions, June 20 -
July 15, 2011 for children entering Grades K - 5. For safety and security, counselors check-in and check-out all campers directly with their parents/guardians each day.
Each group is staffed by a head counselor and
several junior counselors. All head counselors are professional teachers or teachers in training. All junior counselors are either college students or current high school students. All of our counselors are selected for their energy, creativity, and enthusiasm, and above all for their love of working with children.
