Dear Reader, Have you ever suggested to someone that they get a Greenville County library card? Well, I encourage you to do just that so they can begin exploring all the wonderful opportunities a library card provides. If by some chance you don’t have your own card or haven’t used yours in a while, then I invite you to visit your nearest public library to sign up and start taking advantage of the great stuff your library card allows you to do. For example, you can: • • • •
•
Borrow audiobooks on CD for your next road trip or a Playaway for your walk around the block. Download issues of popular magazines to your computer or smartphone. Download up to five free songs a week, from Bach to Bruno, and keep them for free. Use specialized online databases such as Reference USA to look up information for your business, Ancestry Library to trace your family tree and the Foundation Directory Online to find grant funding for your non-profit without having to pay for your searches. Borrow a movie, mini-series or TV show from our extensive DVD collection.
Where else can you get so much for so little? I encourage you to make sure each member of your family, age 5 and older, has their own library card. Suggest to your friends and colleagues that they get one, too. Discover the world of possibilities your Greenville County Library System offers. The best bargain in town, if I do say so myself. At your service,
Beverly James Executive Director
