How We Got to Now, a program series based on Steven Johnson’s bestselling book and accompanying PBS documentary, explores the history of innovation over the centuries, tracing facets of modern life from their creation by amateurs and entrepreneurs to their unintended historical consequences. A limited number of copies of the book How We Got to Now will be available in advance of the discussions, and can be picked up at the Reference Desk on the upper level of Hughes Main Library. The PBS documentary can be viewed on Hoopla through greenvillelibrary.org for free with your library card.
