RENOVATION & EXPANSION

FEATURES

The Jean M. Smith Branch in Greer is closed until the fall of 2019 for a major expansion and renovation. During the closure, the public is invited to use the Burdette Branch at 316 W Main Street in Taylors or any of the other ten Greenville County Library System (GCLS) locations.

Once renovated, the branch will encompass 16,300 square feet (10,800 sq. ft. of original space plus 5,500 of new construction) and will include the following:

BOOKMOBILE STOP During the Branch closure, the Library Bookmobile is making convenient stops nearby. As of September 10, the Bookmobile will be making stops every other Monday from 1:45p-4:30p in the parking lot of the Greer First Baptist Church at 201 W Poinsett St.

• Children's area doubled in size from current space; • Dedicated space for teens; • Larger community meeting room; • Addition of two study rooms; • Drive-up materials return; • Quiet room for reading and studying; • New interior finishes; • Two four-person conference rooms; • Family restroom; • Nursing room; • and additional parking.
