8.5 Evolution of Australian Biota Note: The component of “A local ecosystem” to be tested will be the first section Distribution and Abundance of organisms (including sampling techniques) and Abiotic and Biotic factors of an ecosystem
Topics & Description of Task This assessment is a written examination consisting of 2 sections: o Part A 20 Multiple Choice Questions [ 20 marks] (allow 35 minutes) o Part B Short Answer Questions [ 55 marks = questions range in value from 1 to 8 marks] (allow 1 hour and 25 minutes)
ALL questions are to be attempted and answers written in the spaces provided. Students are required to bring the following equipment in a clear plastic sleeve : ~ student number ~ board approved calculator ~ black pen / pencil / rubber / ruler
Assessment Criteria Marks will be allocated for ability to follow instructions, accuracy of knowledge and demonstration of skills as outlined above. The marks allocated for each question will be indicated clearly on the paper.
