MARKS: 30/100 DATE DUE: TERM1 WK 8 Tuesday 22nd March OUTCOMES TO BE ASSESSED 5.1.1 A student demonstrates an understanding of safe dance practice and appropriate dance technique with increasing skill and complexity in the performance of combinations, sequences and dances. 5.1.2 A student demonstrates enhanced dance technique by manipulating aspects of the elements of dance. 5.2.1 A student explores the elements of dance as the basis of the communication of ideas.
5.2.2 A student composes and structures dance movement that communicates an idea.
TASK: Group devised composition ( 1 ½ to 2 minute in length) In small groups, decide on a concept/ intent for your water composition. Using movement from the class sequence as a starting point for composition, manipulate the elements of Space, Time and Dynamics to generate new movement in response to the stimulus of water. Organise the movement into phrases to communicate your group idea, making changes to group formations to convey your concept/intent. Perform your work with appropriate dance technique and evidence of safe dance understanding. Submit journal entries describing your compositional process – see attached journal questions MARKING CRITERIA: Your task will be marked according to your ability to: • • •

Dancers need to be dressed in black dance attire with hair tied back and no jewelry. A costume is optional The journal is to be handed in at the time of your performance.
