President’s Message Fellow Greystone members, If Punxsutawney Phil had any say in the matter, we will have an early spring this year! And Greystone Golf & Country Club is the place to be. Our new restaurant is taking shape and is set to open on Tuesday, April 12th, and its ambiance will be only a small portion of the experience. Management has heard your mandate to provide excellent food and service on a consistent basis. While this is no small task, I am confident their commitment to provide an outstanding experience has never been greater. The only thing left is naming the venue and for that, we need your input. Be sure to check the Enews for the link to vote. The Fitness Center continues to draw unprecedented attendance with visits up 65% over last year. Our team of professional trainers and staff is second to none and encourage all of us to live healthy, happy lives. Please join me in congratulating our new Fitness Director, Todd Makofski, on his promotion. Stop by and congratulate him on his new role and while you are there, take advantage of our new facility and meet the staff. They take great pride in your health and wellbeing.
Hopefully you received the “Reach 1,000” campaign e-newsletter. The success of this membership campaign is a positive game changer for the club. Greystone Member Ambassadors, responsible for meeting and acclimating new and prospective members, are key to the campaign’s success. Signing up to serve as an Ambassador is voluntary, but I assure you it is a fun way to meet new friends and discuss common interests. The Spring Member-Guest Golf Tournament on April 28-30th is another great way to introduce potential members to the club. Be sure to sign up early; it fills up fast! If you haven’t already, mark your calendars for the Regions Tradition Golf Tournament returning to Greystone Founders May 18-22. This is a world-class event for everyone from golf enthusiasts to young families. Everyone will enjoy an afternoon with friends and neighbors. Thousands of guests and millions of television viewers will experience a glimpse of our beautiful neighborhood, impeccable golf course, clubhouses, and most of all, our genuine southern hospitality. All the best,
Terry Smith

Dear Members,
I hope you are ready for the most amazing spring in Greystone’s history. We have so many wonderful things happening at the Club. I hope you share my passion for our positive changes ahead. The new restaurant opens at Founders in early April. The name, as a result of member voting, will be unveiled soon. As you know, we have a new equipment fleet coming in March for the golf course maintenance department at both courses. Jason Miller and his team are extremely excited to show you the positive benefits and improved conditions. In April we plan to unveil several “member services” to you. They will include; pizza delivery, tailor services, barber on site, transportation services, on site car wash and in May we will begin offering aerification service and opening of an on site mini general store with wine, hand dipped ice cream, and basics like milk and bread. Look for more information on these services in your e-mail inbox soon. The Regions Tradition Tournament is approaching quickly. This will be a top notch event in so many aspects, but merely the pride of it coming home for our 25th anniversary is very special. There will be enhanced live TV coverage on the Golf Channel and the SEC Network during the Pro-Am. During the event, we will have a booth for membership sales. The sense of pride you have in your Club that week is so important to our team. Speaking of pride, Steve Smith will be advertising the opportunity to pre order a members only shirt and/or hat in early March. There is so much excitement at the Club that I almost jog from the parking lot each morning. We are not “there” yet, but I find more proud moments of the staff with each passing day. When someone asks me “how’s it going?” I feel like asking them how much time they have. “It is going great” is the best summary. I can go on for hours about the programs, policies, projects, and events we are working on. Our team wants to be the best, and they are taking guidance and direction to improve. I hope you see and feel the effort.
Message from the General Manager
I look forward to seeing you around campus or at one of the breakfast or happy hour with Dave sessions on April 6th & 8th! Best,
Dave

Golf Course Operations Dear Members,
I am excited to announce the addition of the Landscape Manager position to the Founders Course Operations staff. This position was created to increase the focus on greenery and aesthetic of the Course. It provides us a professional horticulturist whose primary task will be leading the maintenance of the Founders clubhouse grounds, the tennis and aquatics grounds, and the landscape beds on the Founders course. The Landscape Manager will also provide consultation on the landscape at Legacy. I am pleased to announce that Amanda Kirkland has accepted this position. She comes to us with over 15 years of experience in various facets of landscape/horticulture. Her work history includes March- April 2016
running a plant nursery, designing containers and plant beds, landscape installations, and general grounds maintenance, to name a few. The knowledge and experience that she brings with her will be a huge asset to our department. I am excited about the enhancements that she will undoubtedly bring to these high profile areas of the club! Please help me in welcoming Amanda to Greystone!

Membership News Dear Members, I’m excited to announce our partnership with Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham in conjunction with our Reach 1000 Membership Campaign at Greystone. The Board has graciously approved a pretty incredible incentive for those who are successful in bringing new members into the Club this year. Although our ultimate goal is to reach 1000 Members, we realize the road to getting there will likely take some time. With that, we’d like to focus on our short-term goal for 2016 of reaching 100 new Members between now and our Club’s 25th Anniversary in September. For each friend that you refer that becomes a Member by September, your name will be entered into a drawing for a 36-month lease on a Mercedes-Benz of your choice (GLE or C-Class vehicle), maintenance included. Although only one lucky member will be the winner of this grand prize, there will be prizes awarded for 2nd and 3rd place as well.
The fine print: In order to qualify for the drawing, you must be the original referring Member and the primary sponsor on the new Members’ application. For each new House Member, you’ll be entered once, for each new Social or Junior Member, twice, for each golf member – three times. The drawing will take place at Greystone Golf & Country Club at the Club’s 25th Anniversary Party in September. Party details forthcoming.
We hope you will save the date for our Reach 1000 Kickoff Party on Tuesday, April 5th. Check for details in the Social & Dining Events section. Refer a friend today!

Tournament Change: Member-Member 2015 was too hot! We moved the event from July to June 11-12, 2016. In turn, this gave us the opportunity to start the aerification at the Founders Course on July 5th (1 week earlier than normal). This will help us get Founders reopened and back in shape for the beginning of August when the Legacy Course struggles a bit from the summer heat. Exciting News!: We will once again host some small one-day events throughout the year including a one-day Member-Guest, Glow Golf, Couples Golf, Men’s and Ladies Night events, and more! Reminder: The Titleist commercial that was filmed at Greystone last fall is currently airing on the Golf Channel and will run throughout the year. The commercial is a mash-up of many different shots. I broke the film down and you can see Greystone highlighted at the following breaks, :17 back porch, :26 golf team, :29 Cameron McCormick (Jordan Spieth’s teacher), :32 (Ladies Lesson on chipping green), :44 (Legacy putting green) and :46 (Founders driving range). Don’t blink though, it’s a quickie! Visit acushnetgolf.box. com/appreciation.
Enjoy springtime at the Stone,
