introduction Welcome to our Green Pages: Green Roof and Wall Directory • for 2020/2021, designed to help you quickly find a wide variety of resources to support your living architecture project, policy development, or research effort. Green Roofs for Healthy Cities is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (6), member-based industry associated that is dedicated to the development of the green roof and wall industry across North America. We provide training, advocacy, research, events, and promotional products and services to support, develop, and protect the green roof and wall market. Over the past year, we have moved many of our services online due to the pandemic and will continue to provide virtual products and services throughout 2021 – including our major conference CitiesAlive, as well as Local Market Symposia. With our partner, the Green Infrastructure Foundation, we are dedicated to continue to serve our members as they navigate these challenging times and to move forward to expand the market for living architecture.

Web Resources: The greenroofs.org web site has many supportive resources, including links and short profiles of our corporate members and individual members, case studies of award winning projects, and our Policy Resource Report which contains policy making best practices as well as an overview of existing policies organized by type and jurisdiction. There may be supportive policies linked to green space, stormwater management, air quality and more in the jurisdiction you are planning a project. Performance – The Living Architecture Performance Tool (LAPT). The LAPT is a rating system that allows you to design, install, and maintain your project in a manner that achieves the highest performance possible. Modelled after systems like LEED, the LAPT has eight areas of performance each of which has credits associated with it. Documentation is submitted to an independent body of experts for review, at a very low cost for a silver, gold or platinum certification. a Green Roof Professional The Green Roof Professional (GRP) designation was introduced in 2009 as a professional accreditation for individuals who have achieved a specific knowledge level in green roof design, project management, installation and maintenance. The curriculum focuses on maximizing the benefits of projects by ensuring that green roofs operate in concert with other building systems, and are installed and maintained in accordance with industry best practices. To earn the designation, GRPs must successfully complete an exam that tests their knowledge of both the living and non-living components of green roof systems. To demonstrate they are keeping abreast of evolving industry trends and best practices, GRPs must fulfill a mandatory continuing education requirement (16 CEUs) and maintain a GRHC membership in good standing.
