Integral elements Are there integral elements that often form key elements within your work? In other words how do you best generate and create your own designs/imagery? My work mainly takes a typographic approach, which is reinforced with simplified vector based illustrations and strong block colours. I am able to generate imagery from photography but also typography.

Success What are your strengths? Where have you been most successful? What do you think was the reason for that positive experience? My strengths can be found in my use of typography and layout matched with my motivation, determination and proactiveness to drive my portfolio and self forward. I feel my most success projects have been Feathers and Carlisle Photo Festival; this is because they had a good amount of meat on the project matched with mostly open clients. Furthermore I feel I have been most successful in getting real life experiences from freelance work, work placements and a number of interviews. The positive experience can be boiled down to a number of things from my proactive stance with engaging with people in industry but across life. My work has been pushed forward by short time limits on my projects to make me create decisive decision and to prepare me for working in a studio.

Overfview of The Semester

I am interested in brands and how they tell stories to get people to act on the message they receive. I feel this can start to been seen through the work, from client based work for the Eden Valley Hospice and Carlisle Photo Festival. I feel I am still biased towards print media however I am refocusing to digital outlets due to the possibilities for engaging experiences that can be created for audiences. I feel I have started introducing my personality through my work in a number of ways. From proactive approach to gaining a range of freelance work that’s has allowed for deeper interaction and understanding of real world graphic design. Furthermore I introduced my love of colour and typography to allow me to produce energetic solutions for clients. On the other hand I feel I could of done more personal and creative projects exploring my interests in architecture and apps. I aim to follow a creative path of interactive experiences for print and digital outlets. This would allow me to interact and engage with audiences to tell the stories of the brand but also get the audiences to learn from more engaging interaction. A studio with technologists and other digital designers would allow for these stories to come to life and a perfect setting for me.
