booklet / poster design typography image manipulation digital collage
This was a brief to produce a single page piece of printwork to summarise everything I had learned during the first semester of my second year at university. All the images used consist of my work and photographs I took during the semester. I produced a double sided poster which folds from an A6 flier to an A2 poster. As the poster is unfolded step by step, a new page is reveled. The pages above are the front/back cover and intro page.

application design information formatting
This was a brief to design the aesthetics and plan the functions of an iPad App for The Sage Gateshead, which would enable users to browse performances and purchase tickets. The design was to be formatted to the exact resolution and specifications for iPad App designs, essentially it could be made functional with coding.

editorial design
This was the first editorial design brief I’ve undertaken. The brief was to choose a craft practitioner or artist, conduct in depth research gathering as much information about them and their work as possible, then produce a double page spread using the discovered information. I wanted to keep this piece understated and allow the images I chose to do most of the talking, in contrast to Sarah Sze’s hectic, yet awe inspiring, installation work.

photography editorial design identity design
This brief consisted of two parts; first, create an identity for a fictional magazine and second, to produce an article which runs over two double page spreads. The article could be based on one of four themes. I chose “things that fly”. All images in the article had to be either illustrated or photographed by our own hand.
