PORTFOLIO Digital Arts and Media Design LaSalle University Class of 2015
Jonathan Patten “Creativity is just connecting things When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things.” — Steve Jobs

Johnathon Yuki Reid “I need more time... for like... everything!” Hey there! So yeah, I’m a senior, majored in digital art, and my favorite hobby is creating art with a hipster atmosphere to it! I find hipster design to be clean, minimal, and just interesting overall. I mean, how cool is that, ya know?
johnathonried@gmail.com
While I have a lot of work that I have done and am quite proud of, I know I have so much ahead of me. For starters, I will continue to expand upon my hobby of creating hipster atmospheres in photos and who knows, maybe I’ll even be able to start my own brand er something? I dunno... but what I do know is that I am aware of my goals, I am aware of my style and how I want it to evolve, what I want to do and where I want to go within my career. I think all of my bags are packed and I’ve locked the door behind me. Now I just need to figure out how I will travel and just go with it!

Using the AngularJS Framework, I created a portfolio website as a SPA (Single Page Application). The magic of Angular fools the user into believing that they travel to different pages despite the fact that the website’s content is entirely contained on a single web page.

I strive to produce quality work. I take it upon myself to take on challenges that will use my programming and design skills to display work that compares to the highest professional practice.
A re-design of the popular smart phone app “Flappy Bird in Processing. It is currently avaliable for play on my website.
The Value Scale Clock, created in Processing, consists of three circles (corresponding to the seconds, minutes, and hours) that slowly transform color from black to white as seconds, minutes, and hours go by.
Dynamic Images renders a 3D carousel that uses PHP to track the number of images within a specified folder of a website. It then runs through a series of trigonometric functions to properly render a 3D polygon consisting of the images.

Congratulations to the DArt seniors. This class began as individual students committed to learning and practicing design. They grew from developing software skills to designing ideas with their skills. As seniors they became a team capable of working together. The LaSalle community can take pride in the future contribution these students will make and the reflection it will have on our university. Conrad Gleber
