Paseando por la ciudad # Barrio Gótico

Recorrido a pie. Duración aproximada: 2-3 horas. # El Barrio Gótico comprende lo que antiguamente se llamaba barrio de la catedral. Aquí se encuentran los grandes edificios góticos que señalan el apogeo de la ciudad y su cultura en la Edad Media. También se conservan los restos de las antiguas fortificaciones y palacios que fundaron los romanos sobre el Mons Taber, como el templo dedicado a Augusto y las murallas. Nuestro itinerario empieza en la Plaça Nova. 1 # Portal del Bisbe Flanqueado por dos torres cilíndricas de la antigua muralla romana, al lado del actual Palacio Episcopal. 2 # Palacio Episcopal Calle del Bisbe Irurita. Edificado a finales del siglo XII y principios del XIII. 3 # Plaça de Sant Felip Neri (Pasado el Palacio Episcopal a la derecha). Uno de los rincones más poéticos de la ciudad. 4 # Casa del Arcediano o casa de l´Ardiaca Carrer de Santa Llúcia. Fue levantada sobre las murallas romanas, como residencia, en el siglo XV, del arcediano de la catedral. Es notable el patio tipo claustro, que centra una fuente gótica. 5 # Interior de la catedral Tres naves de crucero y veintinueve capillas laterales, en una de las cuales, la del Santísimo, se venera el Cristo de Lepanto. Es de admirar: El coro de tallas medievales y renacentistas, el Altar Mayor y la cripta de Santa Eulalia. 6 # Claustros de la catedral Bellísimo jardín central de palmeras y magnolias. Interesantes verjas de hierro forjado. 7 # Puerta de la Piedad Acceso al claustro de la catedral. En el tímpano destaca una Piedad labrada en madera, de escuela flamenca. 8 # Casa de los Canónigos o dels Canonges Edificio gótico del siglo XIV, restaurado. Un paso superior cruza la calle del Bisbe Irurita. 9 # Centre Excursionista de Catalunya Carrer Paradís,10. En su interior se conservan las columnas romanas que pertenecieron al templo dedicado a Augusto.

10 # Palau de la Generalitat Edificio gótico del siglo XV. Unido a la Casa de los Canónigos por el ya mencionado paso superior. Patio de los Naranjos. Capilla de San Jorge. 11 # Casa de la Ciutat o Ayuntamiento Junto a la fachada neoclásica (siglo XIX), hay una fachada lateral gótica (siglo XIV) y una bella escalinata. Salón de Crónicas con pinturas de Josep Ma. Sert y el histórico Saló de Cent. 12 # Plaça del Rei Esta plaza constituye la unidad más noble de la Barcelona antigua. Recinto enmarcado por edificios góticos, coronados por la fachada del antiguo Palacio Real Mayor y el alto mirador, auténtico rascacielos del siglo XVI. 13 # Casa Clariana-Padellas Alberga el Museu d´Història de la Ciutat. 14 # Palacio del Lugarteniente Edificio del gótico tardío con elementos renacentistas. Es notable el artesanado de las escaleras. 15 # Casa de la Pia Almoina o de la Canonja Plaça de la Seu, junto a la catedral. On foot. Approximate duration: 2-3 hours. ›› The Gothic Quarter is what used to be known ago as the “Cathedral Quarter”. The great gothic buildings which marked the high point of the city and its culture during the Middle Ages are to be found here. Here Likewise, are the remains of the ancient fortified walls and palaces built by the Romans on the “Mons Taber” such as, the temple dedicatet to Augustus. Our itinerary begins in the Plaça Nova. 1 ›› Portal del Bisbe Flanked by two round towers from the ancient Roman wall and on one side of the present Bishop´s Palace. 2 ›› Palace Episcopal (Bishop´s Palace) Carrer del Bisbe Irurita. Built at the end of the 12th Century and the beginning of the 13th Century. 3 ›› Plaça de Sant Felip Neri (Past the Bishop´s Palace and to the right). One of the most lyrical places of the city. 4 ›› Casa de l´Ardiaca Carrer de Santa Llúcia. Built on the Roman walls during the 15th Century as a residence for the Archdeacon of the Cathedral. The cloister- type patio with is gothic fountain is noteworthy. 5 ›› Interior of the Cathedral Three cruciform aisles and twenty- nine lateral chapels in one of which Cristo de Lepanto is venerated. Noteworthy: The choirstall which features both medieval and rennaissance elements.

11 ›› Casa de la Ciutat or City Hall Next to the Neo-Classical facade (19th Century) there is a lateral gothic facade (14th Century) and some levely steps. “Saló de Cròniques” with paintings by Josep Ma. Sert and the historical “Saló de Cent”. 12 ›› Plaça del Rei This is the most handsome section of ancient Barcelona. It a square outlined by gothic buildings toped by the facade of the former main Royal Palace and its watchtower- a true skycraper for the 16th Century. 13 ›› Casa Clariana-Padellas Houses the “Museu d´Història de la Ciutat” (See Museums). 14 ›› Palau de Lloctinent Ghotic building embellished with rennaissance elements. The craftmanship of the stairways in worth noting. 15 ›› Casa de la Pia Almoina or de la Canonja Plaça de la Seu, beside the Cathedral. Forner seat of charitable foundation set up at the beginning of the 11th Century. 16 ›› Plaça de Ramon Berenguer el Gran Equestrian statue in bronze representing Ramon Berenguer III. 17 ›› Ancient medieval synagogue

Recorrido a pie. Duración aproximada: 1-2 horas # La Rambla, que se extiende entre la Plaça de Catalunya y el puerto, fue durante siglos el corazón de la ciudad, y aún hoy día sigue siendo la vía más representativa, popular y cosmopolita de la ciudad. Nuestro itinerario comienza en la cabecera de la Rambla, donde ésta se abre a la Pl. de Catalunya. 1 # Font de Canaletes. Fuente de hierro del siglo XIX. Uno de los símbolos de la ciudad. 2 # Iglesia de Belén. En la esquina con la calle del Carme. Antigua iglesia de los jesuitas. Interior de estilo gótico catalán. 3 # Palau Moja. Situado enfrente de la iglesia de Belén. Casa señorial de principios del siglo XVIII. 4 # Palau de la Virreina. (Rambla, 99) Uno de los edificios más suntuosos de La Rambla. En los bajos hay una Oficina de información Cultural. 5 # Mercado de Sant Josep o de la “Boqueria”. Construcción de hierro que alberga uno de los mercados de alimentación más típicos y tradicionales. 6 # Pla de la Boqueria. Recibe este nombre el llano comprendido entre la calle Hospital y la calle de la Boquería. En el suelo hay un pavimento de Joan Miró. 7 # Gran Teatro del Liceo. Es uno de los edificios emble- máticos de la Rambla. Inagurado en 1847, se ha convertido en uno de los primeros escenarios líricos del mundo. 8 # Palau Güell. (Carrer Nou de la Rambla, 3) Obra de Antonio Gaudí, construida como residencia en Barcelona del conde Güell. 9 # Plaça Reial. Plaza porticada en edificios uniformes. Fuente de hierro en el centro. Las farolas son obra de Gaudí. 10 # Museo de Cera. Edificio construido en 1867 forma parte del Patrimonio Arquitectónico Nacional. 11 # Reials Drassanes. Al final de la Rambla se conservan las mayores y más completas atarazanas medievales que existen en la actualidad. En el interior se aloja el Museo Marítimo.

Located opposite the Betlem church. Important house at the beginning of the 18th Century.

El “Eixample”, dividido en Izquierda y Derecha por la Rambla de Catalunya, muestra su mayor esplendor modernista en la Derecha, donde hemos centrado nuestro itinerario que comienza en la Plaça de Catalunya.

›› “Eixample” means extension and here it refers to the urban expansion of the city which was carried out in the second half of the 19th Century according tho the plans drawn by Ildefons Cerdà. The “Eixample”, which is divided into two by the Rambla de Catalunya, is of greatest interesnt from the point of view of “Modernism”on the right and it is there that we have routed our itinerary. El edificio que alberga el Museo es una importante muestra de arquitectura portuaria: los antiguos Almacenes Generales del Puerto de Barcelona. Rehabilitado por la Generalitat de Catalunya, ocupa casi 13.000m2, de los cuales 4.500 están destinados a explicar la historia de Cataluña. La exposición permanente,constituye un viaje interactivo a través del pasado de nuestro país, desde los tiempos remotos de la prehistoria hasta hoy. La exposición, construida a partir de planteamientos museográficos modernos convierte al visitante en el principal protagonista de una experiencia interactiva única. ›› The Museum of the history of Catalonia shows the history and memories of this country from a number of perspectives. The permanent exhibition consist of an interactive journey Trhough. Catalonia´s past from remote times up to the present day. The exhibition has been set up using modern museum presentation methods and involves the visitor in an unique interactive experience. Objects and documents, audiovisual historical recreations and information points indicate the milestones in journey throug the past, which is constructed using an approach that is scientific,accurate and graphic. The building that house the Museum is an important exemple of port architecture. Restored by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, covers almost 13.000 metres of which 4.500 are given over to the presentation of Catalan history. gaudí Antoni Gaudí Cornet Nació en Reus, en el 1852. Realizó los estudios de arquitectura en la Escuela Provincial de Arquitectura de Barcelona. Antes de finalizar sus estudios, Gaudí colabora con el arquitecto Josep Fontseré en el proyecto del Parque de la Ciudadela. En 1878 gana por concurso la realización de un proyecto de farolas para la Plaça Reial de Barcelona, existentes en la actualidad. Entre 1883 y 1926, Gaudí deja a esta ciudad una muestra de obras de muy distinta índole. ›› Was born i Reus in 1852. He studied architecture in Barcelona Provincial School of Architecture. Before finishing his studies he collaborated with Josep Fontseré, architect, in the Citadella Park project. In 1878 he won a contest to carry out a street lights project for Barcelona´s Plaza Real. Those street ligths still exist. Between 1883 and 1926 Gaudí left in Barcelona a sample of ten different and varied works.

Dos pabellones con una gran verja que servía de acceso a la antigua finca de recreo propiedad de la familia del financiero Eusebi Güell, gran mecenas de Gaudí. La Verja forjada en hierro es un Dragón alado que representa a Ladón, dragón mitológico vencido por Hércules. La forma del Dragón coincide un determinado día del año con la posición de las estrellas de su constelación. ›› Two pavilions with big fence wich was the entrance to the old leisure time house property of Eusebio Güell family. Eusebio Güell was Gaudi´s protector.The forged iron gate is a representation of Ladon, a mythological winged dragon which was beaten by Hercules. Es el único edificio de Gaudí que adopta formas del barroco catalán. Preste atención a su picaporte, que en la parte de la puerta representa un chinche y la del picador una cruz, con cierta ironía Gaudí utiliza esta simbología en la que el bien combate al mal. Aunque a primera vista no parece obra de Gaudí, la sola visita al vestíbulo ofrece detalles poco comunes. ›› This is the only building from Gaudí which adopted Catalan Barroque shapes. Pay particular attention to the door knocker, which is represented by a bug - the partwhere the knocker hits - and a cross - the door-knocker. Esta es la obra de mayor envergadura, en extensión que Gaudí realizó en Barcelona. Se trata de una zona de 20 hectáreas, cuyo objetivo inicial era convertirla en una ciudad -jardín al estilo inglés. En el interior del parque se encuentra la Casa-Museo , donde vivió Gaudí antes de trasladarse a la Sagrada Familia. Cabe destacar el banco ondulado del “trencadís” en el que hizo sentar a un obrero para tomar las medidas y proyectarlo. ›› This is Gaudi´s largest work in Barcelona. It is an area which main aim was to become a british style “garden-city”. Inside the Park, we can find the House-Museum where Gaudí lived beforemoving to the "Sagrada Familia" (The Holy Family). Fachada de mosaico y tejado de cerámica. Gaudí llevo a cabo una remodelación total en esta edificación ya existente. El resultado de su fachada exterior es una fiesta que se compara al carnaval. The result was an outside façade representing a party comparable to Carnival. The house is designed with shapes inspired from natural elements. Cabe destacar la azotea, los patios interiores y el Espai Gaudí, donde podemos conocer mediante maquetas y video proyecciones, aspectos biográficos, artísticos y técnicos del arquitecto. ›› Considered to the most representative work of Modernism, it has breathaking wavy façade of stone and iron balconies. The most outstanding spaces of this building are the rooftop, the interior courtyards and the Espai Gaudí, where we will discover biographical as well as artistic and technical aspects of the architect, by means of scale models and video projections. La Primavera es una estación ideal para la búsqueda de setas y el Parc Natural del Cadi Moixeró, nos ofrece de un entorno único donde disfrutar de sus espléndidos prados y bosques en los que en esta época del año podemos encontrar distintas clases de setas como: la carrereta, el bolet de Sant Jordi o las preciadas Múrgolas.

Spring is the ideal season for a mushrooming expedition, and the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park offers a unique setting. You can enjoy its splendid meadows and woods where at this time of year you will find different types of mushrooms including the carrereta, bolet de Sant Jordi and highly-prized black morel, Morchella elata (colmenillas).

Nos desplazamos desde Barcelona a la localidad de Bellver ,en la comarca de la Cerdanya para encontrarnos con nuestro guía Isidre Ricard, ganadero de la zona y después de un desayuno a base de pan con tomate y unos embutidos, nos dirigimos hacia el pueblo de Riu de la Cerdanya donde tomaremos la pista que nos llevará hasta la Penyes Altes del Moixeró (La pista se encuentra en perfectas condiciones para acceder con cualquier tipo de vehículo).

Make your way from Barcelona to Bellver in the Cerdanya region to meet up with your guide, Isidre Ricard, a local livestock farmer. After a breakfast of tasty bread with tomato and embutidos (sausages), go on to the village of Riu de la Cerdanya where you set off on the track that will take you to Penyes Altes in Moixeró (The track is usable by any kind of vehicle).

Calocybe gambosa (Dicholoma georgii) Nombres populares: moixernò, bolet de Sant Jordi, perrochico... Descripción: Sombrero: blanco crema, liso, convexo y grueso. Láminas: blancas y después crema. Pie: robusto. Olor: harina Comestibilidad: Considerada por muchos micólogos una de las más sabrosas, para la cocinarla saltearla con aceite y un poco de ajo, también podemos hacer una tortilla o revuelto. Hábitat: Bosques, bosquecillos y prados donde la encontraremos dibujando círculos o corros al borde de los bosques. Observaciones: Hay que procurar no confundirla con la tóxica Inocybe erubescens y inocybe patouillardii. Calocybe gambosa (Dicholoma georgii) Common names: moixernó, bolet de Sant Jordi, perrochico, etc. Description: Cap: creamy white, smooth, convex and thick. Gills: white then cream. Stalk: sturdy. Smell: flour. Edibility: Many mycologists consider this to be one of the most tasty mushrooms. To cook, fry in oil with a sprinkling of garlic, or it also goes nicely in an omelette or scrambled egg. Habitat: woods, copses and meadows, where it makes tell-tale circles or rings on the outskirts of woods. Comments: Not to be confused with the toxic Inocybe erubescens and Inocybe patouillardii. Morchella elata Nombres populares: colmenilla cónica, múrgola... Descripción: Sombrero: cónico y hueco con forma de panal de abejas. Pie: color carne pálido, hueco y rugoso. Hábitat: bosques. Comestibilidad: Excelente, hay que cocerla previamente (en crudo es tóxica). Un manjar si la rellenamos de Foie Gras y la horneamos con crema de leche. Observaciones: No confundirla con la Gyromitra esculenta (Bolet de Greix). Morchella elata Common names: colmenilla cónica, múrgola, etc. Description: Cap: conical and hollow, shaped like a honeycomb. Stalk: pale flesh colour, hollow and rough. Habitat: woods. Edibility: Excellent, but must be cooked (is toxic when raw). A treat when filled with foie and baked with cream. Comments: Not to be confused with Gyromitra esculenta (bolet de greix).

El proyecto expositivo contará con una selección de trabajos presentados en Seúl en el transcurso de las cinco ediciones de «Move on Asia» que han tenido lugar entre 2004 y 2010 y en las que han participado más de 200 artistas y alrededor de cien comisarios asiáticos. “SU-MEI TSE“ Hija de una violinista china y un pianista inglés, Su-Mei Tse (Luxemburgo, 1973)ha estudiado cello y es una artista cuyas obras incorporan a menudo elementos rítmicos o musicales. Tse parece ser capaz de oír y ver música donde la mayoría vería solamente eventos y actividades cotidianas. Sus trabajos, que incluyen la utilización de vídeo, fotografía, escultura e instalación, combinan las tradiciones culturales y musicales de sus padres, y apoyándose en la inmediatez y la poesía de sus materiales y en su profundo interés por el gesto, buscan trascender el lenguaje y ser comprensibles a nivel universal. En octubre de 2006, el Gobierno de la Generalitat lo declaró de interés nacional, “debido al interés cultural innegable”. El Parc de la Ciutadella

Ésta es la última de las playas creadas en el litoral de Barcelona. Está situada al lado de la Mar Bella y se incorporó a la ciudad en el verano de 2006.

El Grupo Gavina ha ampliado su oferta gastronómica con un nuevo establecimiento basado en la tradicional tapa. Situado en el inicio de la Barceloneta, con una terraza única en la ciudad, y en un ambiente moderno, relajado, con música de fondo. Mezclan los sabores y los productos del recetario del mundo de las tapas (patatas bravas, pulpo, calamares, croquetas, anchoas, etc) con su experiencia en la cocina, desde 1930. Han reinventado recetas, las han adaptado y mejorado, ofreciendo nuevos gustos. Todo ello en pequeñas porciones pero como siempre ofreciendo lo mejor en producto.

The Grupo Gavina has expanded its gastronomic offers, together with a new establishment based on traditional tapas. Situated on the edge of the Barceloneta with a unique city terrace and a modern ambience with relaxing atmosphere and background music. They mix the flavours and the products from the recipe books from the world of tapas (spicy potatoes, octopus, squid, croquettes, anchovies, etc.) with its experience in the kitchen, since 1930. They have re-invented, adapted and improved recipes, but keeping the essence of the original plate, offering new flavors. All this in small portions but as always giving the best products.
