The International Biennial of Antiques in Florence

Palazzo Corsini

The oldest trade

fair in the world, the most important event for Ita-

lian art: the Biennale Internazionale d’Antiquariato. Great emotions are guaranteed, already starting from its venue. Not a trade fair pavilion but the sumptuous Palazzo Corsini. An amazing location: more than an ordinary building, it looks like a palace overlooking the River Arno.

The BIAF is the only fair in the world that is held in a historic building of immense value, adding value to an already amazing ex-

perience. From 24 September to 2 October, the prestigious rooms and halls of Palazzo Corsini will house about

80 art galleries with a new installation by Ma eo Corvino, interior designer, set

designer and director. Here, you will find the best of great Italian art, from Florentine Renaissance to Italian and international twentieth-century art. But also fascinating Roman, Etruscan and medieval sculptures and relics, along with pieces of Italian and international design that have shaped the artistic taste in the most recent century. Classic and

contemporary coexist at the

BIAF: among the events that will animate the exhibition, there will be the preview screening of Eternal Memories, the first documentary game in the world. It aims to inform younger generations about ancient art through a game to bring them closer to this universe. Eternal Memories can be played both in Italian and English, it will be available for download for free on Android and iPad and its objective is to reach millions of players worldwide among the audience of over 2 billion regular players. The game is produced for BIAF by Golem Multimedia, with

La Grotta - Palazzo Corsini

the collaboration of TuoMuseo and the support of Consultinvest.

Explore the Metaverse thanks to EY, Innovation Partner of the BIAF fair for

this 32nd edition. Visitors will find an EY area dedicated to innovation where they can explore the link between new technologies and art, and a museum inside the Metaverse with works of art awarded in previous editions of the BIAF to enjoy an immersive experience, even remotely. The exhibition in the Metaverse will be enriched by interactive digital activities. EY will also host a panel of experts that will discuss the role of technologies in the art world. Also patronage, with the donation of the splendid altarpiece by Durante Alberti, depicting the Holy Trinity and Saints Andrew, Mary Magdalene and Christina (oil on canvas, 373×192.5 cm). It was donated to the Cathedral of Sansepolcro by Fabrizio More i and Eleonora and Bruno Bo icelli to commemorate the memory of their respective parents, repaying the church for a grave loss suffered in the past. Finally, with the financial support of the Biennale dell’Antiquariato, the Fondazione Archivio Museo Richard Ginori della Manifa ura di Doccia has started an important restoration project for a large collection of precious wax models, seriously damaged by humidity in the years following the closure and neglect of the Ginori Museum. The pieces include the group depicting Apollo and Marsyas, inspired by a work of art by Florentine sculptor Giovan Ba ista Foggini and the groups with Venus plucking Love and Leda with the Swan, reproductions of bronze sculptures by the late-Baroque sculptor Massimiliano Soldani Benzi.
