Take a summer evening, a starry sky, a fabulous venue, live music from some of the top performers of the age, and a glass of excellent wine. What do you get? The 17th edition of Locus Festival, the now-classic music event in the Valle d’Itria, which is back this year to enliven Locorotondo and Fasano from 30 July to 18 August, with a preview on 24 July and a finale on 29 August. The many music lovers who come to the festival from all over the world can this year choose their favourites from a programme that’s truly extraordinary and, as ever, extremely varied, with artists including the superbands Sons of Kemet and Kokoroko, US performer Keiyaa and Naples-born sax player James Senese, but also Samuele Bersani, Niccolò Fabi, Cristina Donà and stars of the Italian charts, such as Colapesce and Dimartino, Willie Peyote, Coma_Cose and Diodato; meanwhile the “definitive diva” M¥SS KETA leads a line-up of a legion of artists, ranging from Emma Nolde to Ariete. Not forgetting experimental music, with the long-awaited return of Iosonouncane, the electronic-jazz fusion of Franco D’Andrea & DJ Rocca, the tropical sax of Laura Agnusdei and many more. Plus special projects like the homage to the maestro Franco Battiato. And there’s more than just music, with over 30 events including concerts, photography. illustration, theatre, film, talks and contemporary art. Making this edition even more special - hence the Festival’s classic circular logo becomes an eye, symbolising this year’s theme: open-eyed music - are the three main venues: the historic Masseria Ferragnano, an incredible country residence just outside Locorotondo, which this year also opens its Historical Garden for the first time; the Egnazia Archaeological Park, a site whose roots go back to Messapian and Roman history, and Piazza Ciaia, the beating heart of the city of Fasano. All these delights are combined with the pleasure of good wine, thanks to Tormaresca, a Puglia winery run by the Antinori family, which once again this year is an Official Partner of the Festival; its vineyards at the beautiful Tenuta Bocca di Lupo in Minervino Murge are the venue for the delicious preview on 24 July, with a performance by Venerus. La 17esima edizione di Locus Festival, l’ormai storica rassegna musicale della Valle d’Itria, che quest’anno torna ad animare Locorotondo e Fasano dal 30 luglio al 18 agosto, con preview il 24 luglio e finale il 29 agosto. I tanti appassionati di musica che vengono a questo Festival da tutto il mondo, quest’anno possono scegliere tra una kermesse veramente straordinaria e come sempre ultra eterogena, che vede artisti come le super band Sons of Kemet e Kokoroko, la statunitense Keiyaa, il sax del napoletano James Senese, ma anche Samuele Bersani, Niccolò Fabi, Cristina Donà e protagonisti delle classifiche italiane come Colapesce e Di Martino, Willie Peyote, Coma_Cose e Diodato, mentre la ‘diva definitiva’ M¥SS KETA guida in line-up una legione di artiste che va da Emma Nolde ad Ariete. Senza dimenticare la sperimentazione con l’atteso ritorno di Iosonouncane, la musica tra jazz ed elettronica di Franco D’Andrea & DJ Rocca, il sax tropicale di Laura Agnusdei e molti altri. Insieme a progetti speciali come l’omaggio al Maestro Franco Battiato. Non solo musica, ma oltre 30 eventi fra concerti, fotografia, illustrazione, teatro, cinema, incontri e arte contemporanea. A rendere ancor più speciale quest’edizione - per la quale il classico segno circolare del Festival diventa un’iride che simboleggia il tema di questa edizione: open-eyed music - sono le tre location principali: la storica Masseria Ferragnano, incredibile dimora di campagna alle porte di Locorotondo che quest’anno per la prima volta apre anche le porte del suo Giardino Storico; il Parco Archeologico di Egnazia, un luogo che affonda le radici nella storia messapica e romana, e piazza Ciaia, cuore pulsante nel centro della città di Fasano. Al piacere di tutto questo si unisce anche quello del buon vino, grazie a Tormaresca, azienda vinicola pugliese dellla famiglia Antinori, anche quest’anno Official Partner del Festival, tra i cui vigneti, nella bellissima Tenuta Bocca di Lupo di Minervino Murge, si tiene la gustosa preview del 24 luglio con l’esibizione di Venerus.
