Where does MDM fit in?  Sub-committee of CEWAG steering committee  Represented by Australian Industry Suppliers and Retailers  Regular progress and results reported to CEWAG steering committee


Current MDM problems!      

No formal process No specific structure Manual punching data Diverse data offerings Product sold before data is available Data issues – Missing or incorrect data – Naming conventions – Multiple coding methods – Code mismatch Supplier to Manufacturer


Why is MDM so important?  Establish Consumer Electronics Industry Standards  Simplify data sharing / synchronisation between Suppliers and Retailers  Remove inefficiencies within Supply Chain – Streamline new item release processes – Reduce time – Lessen mistakes – Diminish/remove manual intervention  Other industries already happening


How will MDM work?


Next steps  Kick off meeting – October 2010  Pilot – February / March 2011  Results to CEWAG steering committee
