WINTER/SPRING 2021

It's time to press play. You’re ready to go and Girl Scouts is ready for you. Nine months of fun skill-building, badge-earning activities inside.

BADGERLAND CHAMPION | FALL 2021-SPRING 2022 1

The Girl Scout Program Difference Everything you do as a Girl Scout centers around STEM, the outdoors, development of life skills, and entrepreneurship. These “pillars” align with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, or what we call the GSLE. All your activities and Girl Scout programs are helping you build courage, confidence, and character while making the world a better place.

Monthly Program Themes Girl Scouts is about way more than doing just one thing. It’s everything! So every month has a different theme. Look for these symbols monthly to support the program as you learn new things and meet new people doing amazing things.

GIRL LEADERSHIP

BADGERLAND SIGNATURE

Every single month, there is an opportunity for Girl Scouts to get to Camp Ehawee or Camp Brandenburg. Activities include options for overnighters and day programs and are badge-earning events.

Badgerland Brunches, Forging your Future, PA Training, and Dialing in Your Project are just a few of the events for Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors.

BFF & Cookies

These are the two Girl Scout product sales and troop fundraisers. More importantly they are PROGRAMS where girls learn the 5 skills of decision making, goal setting, business ethics, money management and people skills. For both programs, we offer rally kickoffs, trainings and enrichments.

A new diversity, equity, and inclusion series centered around a variety of topics (girls always get an opportunity to earn a patch on the topic.) These are always held online and are available to all girls.

We host in-person monthly events for all ages. These events align with that month's program theme (page 12.) These are badgeearning, in-person events in Madison.

ADULT ENRICHMENT

NetworkNite happens the first Tuesday in person at one of the Badgerland Leadership Centers. It's a 2-hour networking session for the grown-ups. iConnect Forum is for volunteers and parents to connect virtually about Girl Scouting events this month. There's other grown-up stuff, too - see it all on page 25.

When bad weather results in the cancellation of an inperson event, every attempt will be made to contact the registrants. Please maintain accurate contact information in MyGS so staff can reach you in the event of a last-minute cancellation. If canceled, the program will be rescheduled or refunded. NEW BADGES!

Twenty-five new badges are available to earn this year: Digital Leadership (above), Math in Nature, Cookie Business, and Global Action. Whatever you're interested in...there’s a badge for that! WE NEED HELP

Can you help us reach more girls? Many schools are not letting in organizations including Girl Scouts in these uncertain times. That means our traditional efforts to connect with new families are gone. Girl Scouts needs your help to connect with families in your school and community. We are asking Girl Scout families and troops to set up Girl Scout information tables at school and community events. We have ready-to-go kits with all the info to share. We just need your help to spread the word and your love of Girl Scouting. Visit gsbadgerland.org and you'll see the info to click to help us out or scan this code. Thanks! 17
