Welcome
Hello Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey! Thank you for taking an interest in the future of girls! The 2019-2020 Program and Events Guide is your guide to Girl Scout events and opportunities designed to support girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We encourage you to sit down with your girl or troop and review the guide. Find activities and programs that match their interests, or are new things they want to try. Then sign girls up. The more new things girls try, the more likely they are to discover what they are really good at and enjoy. They can then use their skills to help others. As you look through the pages of this year’s guide, you will discover fun educational adventures, and trips available to girls as well as some for families. You will also find learning opportunities for adults. You can register for the events, programs, and learning opportunities online by visiting gscsnj.org and click on eBiz button on the home page. While this is an overview of the exciting things happening at GSCSNJ this year; we add a variety of events and programs to the calendar throughout the year. Be sure to check the events calendar at gscsnj.org/events often.
Happy Planning!

How To to Register Register
Registering with eBiz: To get your Girl Scout’s adventure started, visit gscsnj.org and click on the eBiz button at the top right corner of the homepage. Parents/Guardians can register Girl Scouts for events by logging into their family account using a username and password. To create a username and password, navigate to the eBiz button on the gscsnj.org homepage and select the “New Online Account” option. Our online registration system shows you real-time availability for programs and allows you to search by age level, program type, and location. Once you’ve selected the program of your girl’s choice, you can quickly pay online. Troop leaders can process program, event, and training registrations for a girl and adult member in their troop.
Did you know all GSCSNJ programs are open to non-member girls to try? For an additional fee ($5 per program, unless description notes differently), girls are welcome to experience Girl Scouting by attending programs and events. To register a non-member for a program or event, please call Customer Care at 856-795-1560.

Things to Know & FAQs Girl Scout events are designed to help girls at all levels discover new things, connect with other girls, and take action in their communities. The final result… girls gain leadership skills without even knowing it. About Our Events •
• •
•
All Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ (GSCSNJ) sponsored events are fun, interactive, held to the highest standards, and developed to meet the needs of all girls. Events are facilitated by staff, volunteers, community partners, and/or girls. Girl Scout troops have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun, engaging, and educational events together. Girls can also choose to make new friends by attending individually with an adult chaperone.
• •
•
Registrations for all programs and events are on a first come, first served basis. GSCSNJ provides financial assistance through Council Cares. For more information and to apply, please email us at councilcares@gscsnj.org. Troops registered for day programs and overnight adventures must follow the chaperone guidelines laid out in Volunteer Essentials. Girl Scouts registering independent of their troop for a program or event, including Juliette Girl Scouts, will require one parent/guardian supervision, unless otherwise noted in the program description.
What are the Best Events to Attend? It all starts with the girl. Make sure to include girls in the process. Discuss their personal tastes and preferences, check schedules, and review costs… and then let the girls choose. This is the girl-led process in action.
When Does Registration Close? If space is still available, and unless noted otherwise, registration will close one week prior to the start date of an event.
Can You Register for a Program After the Close Date? Registration after the program is closed is not guaranteed.
Will I Receive a Confirmation? Registration confirmations are emailed automatically after event registration. The adult who registered for the event will receive the confirmation, and every registered girl will receive an email confirmation of their registration.
6
Do Girl Scout Volunteers Need to be Registered Members? Adults volunteering at Girl Scout events are required to be registered with Girl Scouts of the USA as an adult member. Safety is our number one priority. We can ensure the safety of all Girl Scouts and Girl Scout volunteers only when adults become registered members and complete the required background check.
What is the Cancellation Policy? If an event is cancelled by the council a full refund will be issued. Refunds should be received within two weeks. All refunds will be issued through the same financial process used to purchase. If for any reason you need to cancel your Girl Scout’s attendance at a program or event, please contact Customer Care at 856-795-1560. Please note all cancellations are subject to a $5 processing fee. No refund will be issued for a girl or troop not attending, if a girl or troop leaves early, or if it is raining (but not inclement weather).
What is Expected of Troop Leaders and Adults Who Attend? Troop leaders are responsible for obtaining permission slips, meeting Safety Activity Checkpoints, and adult-togirl ratios for the event. Attending adults are expected to assist the event staff and girls as needed and to ensure appropriate girl behavior.

She decides what activities to participate in and which earned awards to complete. A Juliette may also attend Service Unit and council events.
