Make Adventure Your Destination! 2024 Summer Camp
Make Adventure Your Destination Dear Girl Scout Families, Summer is on the horizon, and the adventures that await at Girl Scout Summer Camp are ready to be explored! We are thrilled to invite you to join us for an unforgettable summer filled with friendship, learning, and boundless fun. At Girl Scout Camp, we believe in fostering confidence, independence, and a love for the great outdoors. Nestled amidst nature’s beauty, our camps offer a diverse range of activities tailored to ignite curiosity and create lifelong memories. I can still remember the days I spent at Girl Scout Sleepaway Summer Camp when I was a Junior Girl Scout. I tried paddling a canoe for the first time, and I know for sure that this experience taught me to embrace new things. I remember that when the end of the week came, I didn’t want to go home because I had made so many new friends! At Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey, we understand the importance of safety and nurturing environments. All of our camps have multiple, consecutive years of sustained compliance with the American Camp Association (ACA), which is a nationally recognized body consisting of more than 300 standards of health, safety, and program quality. Additionally, all of our camps are staffed by experienced leaders and professionals committed to creating a safe, secure, and enriching space for all. From archery to arts and crafts, from storytelling to stargazing, there’s something at Girl Scout Camp for everyone. Whether it’s the zipline at Camp Inawendiwin (during Day Camp or Sleepaway Camp), the pool at Camp Oak Spring, or the hiking trails at Camp Sacajawea, this summer is going to be filled with laughter, learning, and lifelong friendships! Brand new this year- even more adventure awaits as we are very excited to offer a week at Camp Kettle Run with the help of Sacy staff members. Let’s make this summer extraordinary together! Yours in Girl Scouting,
Ginny Hill, CEO
A Note on Grade Levels Each of our camps is designed to be developmentally appropriate for the grades listed for each session. Grade levels listed on summer camp sessions reflect the school grade campers will begin in September 2024.

Overnight:
A great intro for Girl Scouts who wonder what camp is like at night without having to stay overnight. Campers get to stay late on Thursday nights of specific weeks to continue the camp fun.
What better way to keep camp going than staying overnight? Overnights are held on Thursdays of specific weeks. This is the perfect opportunity for campers to spend their first night at camp.
Family Night:
Friday Closing Ceremony:
This extended camp day will offer families the opportunity to experience the magic of Summer Camp together. Enjoy a dinner on us, try out our adventure activities, and see what makes our Summer Camps so special.

New this summer: Tiered Pricing! To accommodate all of our families, three pricing levels are being offered this year. Each household makes the decision most suitable for themselves, no additional financial documents will be required, and price selection is completely confidential. The level chosen in no way affects the quality of the camp experience. We want to make sure every camper has the opportunity to explore the outdoors!
Tier One (Tier1)
Tier Two (Tier2)
Tier Three (Tier3)
Our partially subsidized cost for families looking to save a little. While this option does not cover the cost of camp entirely, it does help us pay for program supplies, staffing, food, and maintenance. Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey subsidizes the remainder of the cost through other revenue sources, donations, and grants.
The standard fee that we are asking as many members as possible to pay. This option is the closest to the actual cost of camp that helps to pay for program supplies, staffing, food, and maintenance, without additional subsidies.
This fee is inclusive of the standard fee, and is for families that are able to contribute a little extra to ensure the longevity of our Summer Camp program and help to foster a thriving camp community.

Did you know...? 97% of our campers and camp families said the program they attended was fun and relevant. 96% of our camp families said they felt comfortable sending their Girl Scout to camp.
Frequently Asked Questions What program should I register my Girl Scout for based on age level? • You should register your camper based on the grade that they will be going into in September 2024. So even if your camper is a 3rd grade Brownie in May, this summer, register your camper as a 4th grade Junior. How do I register for Summer Camp? • Online registration will take place through CampDoc! If your camper has attended GSCSNJ Camps in the past, you are already familiar with the CampDoc system that is used for health records. CampDoc will now be our registration system, so you only need one profile for all your campers’ information. All members will receive an email with an invitation to the online registration system once registration opens. Is there a deposit required to hold my camper’s space? • Yes, there is a non-refundable $50 deposit that is required to hold your campers space until June 1st. Payments may be made at any time (conveniently, you can set up your own payment plan in CampDoc), but payment must be made in full by June 1st in order for your camper to come to camp. Is the deposit refundable? • No, the $50 deposit is non-refundable for any reason.
What is the deadline for registration? • Registrations are accepted until the program is full, or two weeks prior to the program start date, whichever comes first. How do cancellations or transfers work? • Cancellations requested more than 30 days of the start day of the camp week, will be refunded less the deposit. Less than 30 days before the camp week, there will be no refund without a doctor's note. • Transfers requested to an existing reservation to make changes to a different week or session will incur a $25.00 transfer fee. What about weather-related cancellations? • Weather-related refunds are not given unless the camp is closed. If the camp is closed due to weather, prorated refunds will be issued to registered campers. Can we use Financial Aid to pay for camp? • Yes! You can use our Financial Aid program, Council Cares, to pay for camp. Please choose TIER 1 pricing if you are considering this option. Best practice is to pay the deposit to hold your space, then submit the request for Council Cares via email at councilcares@gscsnj.org I have more questions about registration, who should I reach out to? • Feel free to contact our Customer Care team with any questions at 856.795.1560 or customercare@gscsnj.org

CIT II After earning the CIT pin, campers will hone their skills and expand on their interests during this multi-week program. Participants who complete their choice of the two programs will earn their CIT II Pin and will be well on their way to joining the Summer Camp Staff! All participants should participate in a Zoom meeting prior to their week at camp to help them get ready for their adventure. Choose from the following CIT II tracks:

Becoming a Confident Leader:
In this program, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts train to be lifeguards and to understand the necessary qualities and responsibilities required to be team members. The CITs will expand their leadership skills as they work with a Lifeguard Instructor to prepare them for working with campers of all ages in an aquatic setting. During the first week, the CIT’s will learn all of the necessary skills they need to become a lifeguard. During the second week, they will shadow members of our aquatics team at both our pool and dock each day. At the end of each day of the second week, CITs will get the chance to read over their feedback throughout the week and reflect on how to continue to grow in their aquatics leadership journey.
This program is offered to campers going into 11th and 12th grade in September that are interested in taking a more prominent leadership role and may be thinking about becoming Summer Camp Staff. To be eligible to participate in this CIT II course, campers must have passed the CIT Program and have been a Camp Aide for at least one week. This program includes a three day wilderness hiking overnight and a one day adventure trip that will truly ensure our CITs are able to provide a more advanced level of leadership to our campers.
Registrants will be asked to complete mandatory online coursework (approximately 8 hours) and an in-person pre-test before attending the CIT II program. Registrants will also participate in a Small Craft (Boating) Safety course, which will be taken outside of the camp weeks.
