Hello Gamecock Fans! Your favorite mascot just wants to say one thing… Thank you for your support of Jacksonville State Athletics! All of our studentathletes are grateful for the generosity you show each year with your contributions to the Gamecock Champions Club. Remember, your gifts help the entire athletic program so that our guys and gals compete on the level with their peers. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you this year! Gooooo Gamecocks!

JSU Tennis Standout Gregg Harley

“The opportunity to play college tennis at Jacksonville State was a dream come true for me. The lessons I learned both on the court and in the classroom at JSU served me well as I moved on to law school and into my career. Without the Gamecock Champions Club’s support, myself and many other JSU graduates would have never had the chance to enrich our lives by participating in intercollegiate athletics. Thank you.” 2

Gamecock Champions Club! For over 40 years, the Gamecock Champions Club has provided support for Jacksonville State’s student-athletes and with that support, the Gamecocks have excelled on the Field of competition with more than 100 Conference Champions and Tournament titles.

The Gamecock Champions Club, which is known as the right arm of the JSU Athletic Department, originated in 1969 when a group of almost a dozen fans of the football team decided to help raise money to support a tutorial program.

The small band of fans became the Jacksonville State University Honorary Coaches Association and the University’s first booster club. In 1983, the Honorary Coaches, who had primarily supported football, voted to expand the group’s support to all sports. Four years later, the group was called The Gamecock Club.

In 2011, the Gamecock Club has been changed to The Gamecock Champions Club and will now encompass all priority seating at Burgess-Snow Field at JSU statdium, Rudy Abbott Field and at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

JSU Soccer Standout Chelsea Pelletier “To me, being apart of Gamecock athletics is is the pride and responsibility that comes with as a whole. I am blessed to have been given this cock have shaped the person I am today.” <<< Chelsea Pelletier 2008-2011

JSU Football Standout Josh Cain

“I am very thankful for the Gamecock Champions Club Members. Their support has allowed me to become a part of the Gamecock tradition and has built a strong environment for athletics here at JSU.

Josh Cain 2006-2009 >>>

We are commissioning each member of the Jacksonville State University Family to continue to make A Championship Investment into the life of a student-athlete. We challenge each of you to join the Gamecock Champions Club and then recruit a friend, co-worker of any Jacksonville State supporter to do so as well. Any amount or gift makes a difference. Without your help we will fall short of our mission in supporting our student-athletes and providing quality athletic facilities.

Thank you for being a Jacksonville State friend, fan and donor! We are

not about the title or the jersey. Rather, it representing Jacksonville State University opportunity and my experiences as a Game-

Gift in Kind It may be easier for some supporters to provide goods and services instead of cash donations. Items and services are valued for the savings they bring to the overall athletics program. In most cases, Gamecock Champions Club donor benefits at the corresponding giving levels are extended in the exchange for the gifts-in-kind or pledge.

Important Note All gifts-in-kind must be approved by the JSU Athletics Development office before Gamecock Champions Club benefits can be awarded.

JSU Basketball Standout Tracy Broom “My playing experience at JSU was probably one of the greatest experiences in my young adult life. Being a collegiate basketball player at JSU taught me discipline and work ethic, and that prepared me for my everyday life of setting goals for myself and striving to work hard to achieve those goals. <<< Tracy Broom 1989-1993

JSU Softball Standout Ann Shelton “I am very thankful for the experience and the memories of being a JSU softball player. It is part of my life that I cherish. The Gamecock Champions Club played a large role in making my memories great. They worked tirelessly to ensure that each athlete knew they were cared about at JSU.” <<< Ann Shelton 1993-1996

Financial Assets: Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds Gifts of appreciated securities can help you avoid capital gains taxes, while providing JSU Athletics with a generous gift.

Honorary and Memorial Gifts Pay tribute to someone’s life and accomplishments while strengthening Jacksonville State’s athletics program. The office of Athletic Development can assist you with making this kind of gift.

Other Methods of Giving Gifts to the Gamecock Champions Club may also take other forms including real estate, personal property, and planned gifts (endowments, life insurance policy, bequests, trusts, annuities, and securities). Please contact the JSU Athletics Development office for further details and information.

Giving Levels There is no greater benefit than knowing that you are providing a student-athlete with the resources to receive a highest education while pursuing their athletic dreams. Additionally, the Gamecock Champions Club and Athletic Development have created a tangible benefit structure for donors who give at specified levels. These benefits can be seen as giving incentives, but as the Gamecock Family, our hope is that each member gives willingly in support of the overall mission of the Gamecock Champions Club. These benefits are our thank you for your continued support.

JSU Volleyball Standout Abbey Breit

“I enjoyed every minute of my time as a studentathlete at JSU. Some of my most cherished memories are those made with my teammates and coaches, both on the court and off. I wear one of my conference championship rings literally every day and am so proud to be part of the Gamecock Volleyball legacy. Being part of such a successful program, I gained confidence and leadership skills that have translated into success in pharmacy school. Although attending a pharmacy school ranked in the top five nationally is a completely different challenge, I am amazed sometimes at the parallels that exist between pharmacy school and volleyball. I have taken on leadership positions within pharmacy school, and know that this is directly related to my experiences as a student-athlete at JSU. Abbey Breit 2004-2007 >>>

JSU Baseball Standout Todd Jones

“When I got to JSU as an 18-year old kid from Georgia, I was a long way from home and the Gamecock Champions Club became the student-athletes extended family. My experience at JSU was tremendous and now at this stage in my life, I realize any help-at any level-to support Jacksonville State Athletics is a positive and the right thing to do. It takes an entire community to nurture and develop our student-athletes at Jacksonville State and any support that you can provide will help the Gamecocks be successful.
