Five Easy Steps for Getting Started in the 2020 Fall Product Program

All girls and volunteers must be registered Girl Scouts for the 2020-21 membership year, and volunteers must have a current and approved GSEMA CORI background check.

1. Complete the required paperwork (available at gsema.org/fallproduct)

• Troop Fall Product Coordinator Agreement • 2020-21 Troop Bank Account Information Form (Once troop submits the bank form for the 2020-21 Fall Product Program they do not need to submit it again for the

Cookie Program.) • Caregivers must complete a 2020-21 Annual Girl Permission Form. Thetroop leader keeps this paperwork in their files; it is not submitted tocouncil.

2. Gather girl materials.

• Service Unit Fall Product Mentors will provide Troop Fall Product Coordinators with In a Nutshell, order cards, and money envelope. • If you need to be introduced to your Service Unit Fall Product Mentor, please email customercare@gsema.org.

3. Participate in a Fall Product Program Prep Talk and review M2tutorials.

• View the Product Program team’s recorded one-hour Prep Talk to learn how to get started, what’s new in the program, and what to expect! • M2 tutorials –quick online topical videos to guide you through all important tasks in

M2. These are located on our webpage and in M2.

4. Set troop goals and hold a familymeeting.

• One of the most important aspects of the Fall Product Program is working with girls to develop a troop activity plan for the Girl Scout year, create a budget, and set Fall

Product goals to fund the plan. • Conduct a (virtual or in person following GSEMA Meeting Guidelines) Fall Product

Program training meeting with girls andfamilies. o Discuss what programs, trips, and activities the girls want to participate in. Visit gsema.org/programs for ideas. o Working with families is key for the success of thetroop! o Work with the girls to set troop and individual goals. o Use the GSEMA Troop Budget Plan spreadsheet to help create yourbudget. o Review selling opportunities (paper order cards and online) o Ask families for help during the Fall Product Program season, and guide them through setting up their Girl Scout’s online shop in M2. o Communicate key dates and deadlines with families. o Remind families that girls need to be registered for the 2020-21 membership 7
