Dishwashing

Troops and groups using the fire circle for cooking should wash dishes in the method outlined in Troop Camp training.

Equipment and Supplies

• Cooking equipment is NOT provided (i.e. pots, pans, utensils, and dishwashing buckets). Troops should plan to bring this equipment. • Troops should also plan to bring all cleaning supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags. • Fire buckets, grates and rakes are available on the site.

Fires and Wood

There is a fire circle outside the side door of Friendship House, and is the only location a fire is allowed. Please note: GSEMA cannot guarantee that you will be able to make a fire during your stay. The local fire department will let us know if and when there is a fire ban in place and the Site Manager will let you know. It is recommended that troops bring their own fire starters and kindling. Please leave ashes in the fire circle; it is not necessary to rake, sweep, or shovel ashes before or after use.

Plumbing

Friendship House has indoor toilet facilities and showers.

Refrigeration and Food Storage

The Lodge is equipped with refrigeration. It is your responsibility to monitor the thermometer for acceptable temperature readings of 40 degrees or below. If not, please notify Site Manager for correction.

Trash Disposal

This facility does not provide a dumpster; it is “carry in, carry out.” Troops are responsible for taking trash with them at the end of their stay.
