About Us Camp Amity Acres is where girls learn and thrive outside the box. Located close to the Garden State Parkway in Waretown/Barnegat, New Jersey, Camp Amity Acres welcomes girls for summer camp from June 22 through August 21 and is open from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. It is owned and operated by Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, offering girls ages 3 to 15 unforgettable summer camp experiences that connect them to nature, build skills and foster friendship in a fun and safe environment. Accreditation

Camp Amity Acres is an American Camp Association accredited camp. To earn this accreditation, we voluntarily meet more than 300 standards established by the ACA and maintain high safety and quality standards in site, program, transportation, administration, personnel, and health care. All Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore camps meet ACA standards and NJ Youth Act standards in addition to guidelines provided by Girl Scouts of the USA. 2

Camp Amity Acres is a great place for a girl to unlock her potential and discover the outdoor adventures that await her! Our unique environment helps her develop positive self-esteem, leadership skills and social skills, all while having the time of her life! Girl Scout summer camp provides a vital building block to support girls’ growth and development, leading them to become successful, resourceful women. In an outdoor setting, girls discover a strong sense of self, gain practical life skills, become resourceful problem solvers, and cultivate healthy relationships.

Daily Activities Mornings at Camp Amity Acres begin with an opening ceremony and flag-raising, followed by a rundown of the day’s activities. From there, campers go to their unit (their home base) where they prepare for a day of fun and excitement. Every day features swimming, plus a variety of activities that may include archery, boating, nature exploration, arts and crafts, climbing wall, zip line and other team-building activities. Once a week, campers are welcome to stay late for a night around the campfire with more fun camp activities and dinner (weather permitting).

Camp Trading Post Every camper receives a camp t-shirt and mug for camp with their registration, but we have other incredible swag available to purchase, and it’s all available when you register for camp. Plus, we have some great camp clothing available so you can show your Amity Acres pride. Camp Basics from A-Z Archery Bullseye! With the help of a certified instructor, campers will get the opportunity to learn how to safely use a bow and improve their shooting technique. Arts and Crafts A variety of artistic opportunities are available to Amity Acres campers. Wacky Beads are the highlight of every camp week, but young artists also have the chance to paint, draw and complete classic camp crafts. Before/After Care Convenient Before and After Care is available for all campers. Before Care begins at 7:00 a.m. at camp and at the Girl Scouts’ service center in Toms River. After Care is offered until 6:00 p.m. at camp only. Full-week and daily options are available. Boating Under the supervision of trained specialists, campers learn how to boat and canoe safely as they paddle or row across the lake. Will your camper dare to paddle around Sock Island? Busing Bus transportation for three or more camp days is available for Camp Amity Acres from various locations throughout Ocean County. Bus transportation is not pre-rated for partial weeks. Campfire On Thursday evenings, campers can stay with us until 8:00 p.m. for an evening of fun and laughter that includes more of their favorite camp activities, dinner and an awesome campfire (weather permitting). Campfire with Overnight After enjoying campfire activities, campers entering fourth grade and above may spend the night at camp to take the fun and friendship to the next level. Breakfast and lunch are provided the next day. 6

Camp Color Clash During one special week of camp, campers are divided into teams and compete in a variety of exciting challenges. Bragging rights go to the team with the most points at the end of the week. Climbing Wall Reaching new heights can be taken literally on Amity Acres’ climbing wall! Campers entering fourth grade and above challenge themselves to discover how high they can climb. Family BBQ Families are invited to join their camper for dinner and a campfire several times over the summer. Discover why your camper sees Amity Acres as her summer home. Dates and registration information are available online. Girl Scout Badges Girls in kindergarten through eighth grade can earn Girl Scout badges to place on their uniforms and wear all year round. These badges are an exclusive to Girl Scouts and are available to earn at Girl Scout Camp. Swimming Every day, our campers have the opportunity to cool off in the swimming area of our natural lake. Play games with friends or swim on their own. Team-Building Trust and teamwork are essential in life, and Amity Acres’ low-ropes course demonstrates its importance to campers in a fun and challenging way. Water Trampoline Campers love our water trampoline! Located on our lake and closely watched by lifeguards, jumping into the cool water is always a thrill. Zip Line Nothing is more exhilarating than feeling the wind against your face while flying down our zip line. Available for campers entering fourth grade and older. Follow Us!

We’ll explore art and it’s different mediums and display our creations at the Thursday family campfire for our first annual art show.

Bring your sweet tooth as we explore the world of desserts! We’ll be baking something different each day.

Technology advances occur faster than ever before. We provide a solid foundation, letting campers get hands-on as they make electronic circuits and program various devices, including robots.

Spend half a day at the stable, located close to camp (transportation provided). Professional staff will show all aspects of horsemanship, including proper horse care and how to ride. International Cooking (New!) Every day, girls will make a dish from a different country. As they cook, they will discover more about each country’s culture. 8

Three-Night Stay A highlight for campers every summer. On Monday, campers meet their unit to plan their stay. From Tuesday through Friday, they live at camp, experiencing outdoor cooking, campfires, and more!

Leadership Opportunities Girl Scout camp is where girls thrive in the great outdoors, take on new challenges and gain leadership skills that last a lifetime. Girls who grew up at Amity Acres enjoy sharing their love of camp with the younger girls who follow in their footsteps. Leadership opportunities for these girls are available during specific weeks of camp. Camp Program Aide (CPA) Girls, eighth grade and above, who train as a Camp Program Aide, learn more about themselves and strengthen their leadership skills in areas including group dynamics, decision making and conflict resolution. There is a strong emphasis on the learn-by-doing philosophy under the supervision of our experienced staff. Upon completion of CPA training, girls may apply for up to two weeks of CPA Mentorship and will receive the Program Aide Pin and the Wonders of Water Leader In Action. CPA Mentorship Our CPA Mentorship program gives girls who have completed CPA training the opportunity to share their leadership and outdoor skills with younger campers under the guidance of experienced camp staff. Upon completing their two-week mentorship, girls will receive their Counselor-In-Training I Pin. CPA Specialization After completing their CPA training, girls can specialize in a specific area of camp. Opportunities include archery, boating, equestrian, and team-building. Upon completion, girls will receive their Counselor-In-Training II Pin. Girls who complete the CPA program are eligible to be hired as camp staff when they turn 15 years old.

Camp Policies and pricing Camp Registration Camp registration is completed online with our easy-to-use registration software. It’s simple! You will be able to provide most necessary information online, except for waivers and medical forms related to our equestrian program. If you have questions during the registration process, call 732-751-2755. We are happy to help. Change Fees A $15 change fee will be charged to camper accounts for each change to a camper’s schedule made after June 19, 2020. Payments and Medical Information All outstanding balances, waiver forms, and medical information are due two weeks before a camper’s first day at camp. After this date, a $25 late fee will apply. Refunds Complete refunds are available for all campers through May 1, 2020. A non-refundable $25 cancellation fee will be applied to each week of camp through June 1, 2020. No refunds after June 1, 2020, excluding medical exceptions. A 50% refund will be provided if inclement weather forces camp to close for more than half of a camp week. February Archery Tournament Grades 2-12 • Program Activity Center • $10 per duo Saturday, February 8 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. (Gr. 6-12) 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Gr. 2-3) 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Gr. 4-5) Girls, grab an adult as a partner and compete against other Girl Scout teams to identify Girl Scouts’ best archers. All duos go home with their tournament targets and winners receive trophies. Adults must attend a mandatory safety check prior to the event.

How can girls keep our planet clean without using chemicals? Girl Scout Brownies will make a natural cleanser in a spray bottle to take home and a natural air freshener. March Howling Good Time Grades 2-12 • Program Activity Center $16 before Sunday, March 1 Thursday, March 12, 6:45 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Girl Scout Brownies and older will get up close and personal with a wolf and learn about their lifestyle and habitat. Girls will even get to meet a wolf cared for by the Howling Woods Wolf Reservation. Parental supervision is required.

Archery Club Grades 2-12 • Program Activity Center • $5 monthly Tuesday, March 17, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Is your girl ready for archery? Girls who are Girl Scout Brownies and older will learn archery range rules, tournament rules, and how to set up an archery range. Girls will practice shooting, learn how to score, and track their progress.

Trailblazing Badge Grades 6-8 • Camp Amity Acres $25 before Thursday, April 2 Wednesday, April 15, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Learn what it takes to be a true trailblazer! Girl Scout Cadettes review backpacking gear and practice basic first aid. Girls will pitch tents on a mock campsite and review, “Leave No Trace.” They will also cook lunch in foil packets and make their own granola bars.

Up-Cycled Earth Friendly Crafting Grades 6-12 • Camp Amity Acres $10 before Thursday, April 9 Wednesday, April 22, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Be creative making earth-friendly crafts! Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors are invited to celebrate Earth Day. Girls will build a bee abode, wildflower seed bombs and more. Girls should bring a cleaned soup can to upcycle.

May Hiker/Letterboxer Combo Grades 2-3 • Camp Amity Acres • $16 before Monday, April 20 Monday, May 4, 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Have a busy schedule? Here’s a program tailor-made for Girl Scouts on the go! Girls will earn two badges during this three-hour program while learning about maps and compasses and what a letterbox is. They will then go on a hunt for hidden letterboxes and make a snack.

Firebuilding Grades 4-8 • Camp Sacajawea • $13 before Thursday, April 23 Thursday, May 7, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. It’s a thrill to build your first campfire. After learning important fire safety, Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes will collect the correct types of wood for the very best campfire. Girls will partner to start their own mini-fire and end the day making a banana boat dessert on your personal fire.

Adult Activities Basic Outdoor Training Camp Amity Acres • $10 Sunday, April 26, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

In one fun-filled Spring day, we provide adults with the outdoor skills necessary to take girls on outdoor adventures, including how to safely prepare a campfire to make s’mores. An optional overnight addition is also available for adults who want to take girls camping overnight.
