Decorate with overlays
Enhance movie content Add style to each movie component by using filters and the Pan & Zoom effect. 1. Select Video Filter from the Library, then apply the Ghost Motion filter to the father and son video.
2. Click the sailboat thumbnail in the Timeline then select Pan & Zoom and choose one of the presets by clicking the arrow.
4. Click the Animation tab and apply a Moving Path effect to the text.
Add objects and frames to decorate your clips. 1. Switch to Timeline View then select Decoration: Frame from the Library. 2. Drag the Turnpage frame thumbnail to the Overlay Track in the Timeline then position it under the sailboat. 3. Right-click the clip in the Preview Window then select Fit to Screen so that it covers the entire video frame. 4. Trim the Overlay clip to match the sailboat clip duration by dragging its handles in the Timeline.
3. Enter titles for both the video and the sailboat and drag or trim each title in the Timeline so that they match the duration of the clips.
Add a music soundtrack or voiceover to your project. 1. Select Audio from the Library, then select an audio clip and drag it to the Music Track in the Timeline. 2. Trim the duration of the audio clip so that it matches the duration of your project. 3. Click Fade-in and Fade-out so that the music enters and exits smoothly.

Tip: Add customized music tracks to your project through the Auto Music tab or add music from CDs using Import from Audio CD.
Add transition effects Insert an effect in between clips to create smooth transitions. Select Transition from the Library, then select Flashback. Select one of the presets then drag it to the box between the first and second clips in the Timeline. Try experimenting with different effects such as Mask, Film, Stretch, and more and apply them as the other transitions.

Output your movie project in various ways such as discs, video/audio files, online videos, or DV recordings.
Add Titles Add animated titles to your clips or credits to your project. 1. Select Title from the Library. Drag one of the title thumbnails to the Title Track, or to create your own, double-click the Preview window and enter your text. 2. Specify the font type, size, and color.
Select Create Disc to output your project, then follow the guide on the next page to create your disc. Check the User Guide to learn more about output options available in VideoStudio. Don’t forget to save your work. Click File: Save then enter a name for your project to work on it at a later time.

Use the DV-to-DVD Wizard to easily create a movie from the content of your DV tape then burn it onto a disc.
If you are new to video editing or you want to quickly make a movie, you can use the Movie Wizard to assemble video clips and images, add background music and titles, then output the final movie as a video file, burn it onto a disc, or further edit the movie in VideoStudio Editor.
Step 1: Scan for scenes Scan the DV tape and select the scenes you want to add to your movie. 1. Select a DV Device and specify whether to scan From beginning or From current position.

There are several ways to add video and images to your project. If you want to import video from a device, begin with the Capture step.

2. Specify Duration, Source, and Format for capturing then select whether to capture video or save a frame from the video as a still image.

5. Drag the Volume slider to adjust the balance between the sound from the Theme template and the sound from the video.
1. Capture, add image or video clips, or import media from DVDs and add them to your projects.
2. Specify the scan speed, then click Start Scan to begin scanning the DV device for scenes.
Tips: Add chapters to your DVD menu to let users easily access a specific portion of your movie. To add chapters, click Advanced then select Auto add chapter.
3. Select a title for your movie. Click Text Properties to specify text attributes and use the Preview Window to modify and reposition text.
