Our Journey This year marked the beginning of our second century as Girl Scouts. While every year brings new reasons to celebrate scouting, I cannot help but feel excited and optimistic about our next century serving girls in our community because 2013 was so sweet. We are deeply grateful to our diverse and accomplished leadership—board members, troop leadership teams and more. You invest your time, expertise, and resources into the future’s greatest untapped talent pool—today’s girls. Our three-year plan of work is close to reality because we have cultivated new relationships while enriching our loyal existing ones. These diverse funding sources and efficient stewardship of resources helps us reach more girls with exciting and challenging programs. With your help, we deliver program experiences that are meaningful and fun. We promote leadership; healthy living; financial literacy; math, science and technology; and the arts. We encourage even the youngest girls to explore their potential as leaders-in-training. As they mature into young women nearing the end of their tenure as girl members, those once-little girls become leaders-in-action. Our success is a solid reflection of a committed and tireless corps of volunteers— but it also relies on the many friends and partners who are aligned with our mission, like you. We are grateful for your support and the trust they instill in us to make our mission a reality: building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
