Annual Report

October 1, 2013 - September 30, 2014

Sue Peters joins the ranks Dear Friends of Girl Scouts,

014 1922 - 2

A visionary, the late Sue Peters left a lasting legacy on Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee. In addition to her devotion to girls, Sue was a passionate and highly engaged member of our community. She was active in a wide range of interests including public radio, literacy, and Leadership Nashville. Her dream to improve the lives of girls in our community remains alive and vibrant to this day.

As the largest girl-serving organization in Middle Tennessee, Girl Scouts is committed to ensuring that all girls reach their full potential. And one woman, the late Sue Peters, paved the way for us to shape the destiny of our girls. In 2014 we said goodbye to Sue. A long-time personal mentor and champion of Girl Scouts, she shaped so much of today’s Girl Scout experience in our community. Sue joined the Council in 1970 as Executive Director and served for nearly 25 years. Sue Peters represented an era of leadership that was donor driven. With the donor support of the Board and the community, Sue raised the funds to build the Council's Girl Scout Center, and to make significant improvements to our Girl Scout camps. Her legacy is one that we are still espousing and it will continue to be felt for generations to come. This Annual Report is a snapshot of how we continue to build girls of courage, confidence and character in Middle Tennessee. Our accomplishments in 2014 were made possible by volunteers and supporters like you who believe in our mission, and in Sue Peters’ extraordinary vision. With deep gratitude,
