Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Program Survey Coming in January of 2023, GSMW will host council-wide programs, both in-person and virtually, just for our older Girl Scouts. To start the program planning on a Girl-Led trajectory, we would like to ask our Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors to complete a simple survey. The survey is meant to gauge interest in a variety of program topics. Girls will also get a chance to voice their personal interests. Choose from art, design, community service, college readiness, STEM career topics, or VOICE your own choice.
Older girls, take the CSA Program Survey!

R.J. Schoen The PERIOD Project Gold Award Girl Scout
GSUSA has announced Gold Award Girl Scout, R.J. Schoen, of Casper WY, as one of our GSUSA Gold Award Scholarship recipients! For their Gold Award project, they addressed the issue of period poverty and stigma at their school and in their community. To do this, R.J. partnered with the national organization PERIOD to establish a PERIOD chapter in their high school. The PERIOD chapter created a safe space for students to collaborate and advocate for change for themselves and others as well as continue the work R.J. has started. They hosted workshops with educators on how to address period poverty in the classroom which has opened up many conversations about period poverty. R.J. also lead their PERIOD chapter team by organizing period product drives, workshops, and social media content. R.J. was the recipient of the $2,000 GSUSA Gold Award scholarship!
Alumna Spotlight Betsy currently works as an environmental consultant in Spokane, WA where she helps clients understand and comply with complex environmental regulations. Betsy has experience with wastewater permitting, storm water management, and spill prevention but has the most experience with air quality permitting. Her favorite projects usually involve air dispersion modeling, which is used to predict concentrations of a pollutant. Betsy’s Girl Scout experience led her to become an Environmental Engineer.

110 Years of Girl Scouts 110 Years of Girl Scouts In 1912, Juliette Gordon Low (Daisy) founded the Girl Scout Movement with 18 girls who wanted to make the world a better place and believed they could do anything they put their minds to. At the time, women in the United States could not vote and were expected to stick to strict social norms, but that didn’t stop Daisy. She encouraged girls to embrace their unique strengths and create their own opportunities. That small gathering ignited a Movement that continues to this day – one where every girl can unlock her full potential, find lifelong friends, and make the world a better place. As Girl Scouts celebrates 110 years, we ask for your support in the amount of $110* to help girls continue to break down barriers, specifically within the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) workforce pipeline. Even though women have come a long way, there is still a huge gender disparity of women working in STEM professions. Be sure to read Betsy’s story, this month’s featured alumna.
Donate Here! Your gift of $110 will bolster girls’ interest in STEM and provide equal opportunities to all girls, no matter her socioeconomic status, geography, race, or ability. Your contribution (individually or as a troop) will directly support the Mobile STEM Learning Center, a cargo style van fully equipped with exciting technology and educational materials to provide STEM education to girls throughout Montana and Wyoming, specifically rural and reservation communities. Join Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming as we celebrate 110 years and support the next generation of dreamers, doers, problem solvers, and change makers. *A monetary donation of any kind is greatly appreciated. We are also in need of several items that could be purchased from our Amazon Wish List.
