This summer, fill her days or evenings with opportunities in a safe, enriching environment. Girls who may not be ready to spend overnights away from home can experience the adventure, fun and excitement of Girl Scout Camp through Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas’ volunteer led Day/Twilight Camps! Girls attend the camp during the day or evening and return to their homes at night. Outdoor activities, new friends, and special memories are part of what makes Day/Twilight Camp a great experience for girls! Day/Twilight Camp locations vary to give your daughter more options and give you a more convenient trip to and from camp. Each camp has a unique theme as well. Whether a girl chooses a camp close to home or miles away, each day she can return home self-confident and bubbling over with stories of friendship, new-found skills, and memories of sunny days or glowing campfires.

Check out the chart to choose the location, date or theme that suits you best, and get ready for some Girl Scout camping fun!

FAQ’s I am volunteering at day/twilight camp – how do I register for day/twilight camp? Any adult volunteering to work at any day/twilight camp will register by using the online application found at gsnetx.org/dtregistration

As a day/twilight volunteer I am including six girls’ registrations with my registrations, where do I send the girls’ forms? Girls’ forms & payment should be mailed to the camp they are planning to attend. Include a copy of the email you receive once you complete the first step of the online day/twilight adult volunteer process.

Who do I make the check out to for day/twilight camp? The checks should be made payable to the name of the day/twilight camp attending – i.e. if you are attending Summer Sensation then the check should be made payable to “Summer Sensation.”

Can I use my cookie dough to pay for all or a part of my campers fee? Yes! Mail your cookie dough along with your campers registration & health form to the camp you wish to attend.

I am volunteering to work at day/ twilight camp and want to bring my 6-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter. Do I need to register them? Yes – all boys (ages 6-12) and preschoolers (ages 3-5) need to register with the same forms as a girl would use for registration. Send those completed forms to the camp where you will be volunteering. Contact each camp to see if they have units for preschool children and boys.

Can I get a refund if my daughter can’t attend day/twilight camp after I have mailed in the registration? $10.00 of the camp fee is non-refundable after placement and will be deducted from any refund. A written request to the camp director must be received at least 15 days before the start date of camp. After the last day of the specific camp, a written request to the camp director must be received within one week of the camp close date.

Can a non-member attend a day/ twilight camp? A girl who is not currently a member of Girl Scouts should go online and complete the 2017 membership registration and pay the $15 fee.

My daughter is interested in attending day/twilight camp as a program aide (grades 7 and up) – how do I find out about this opportunity? Contact the camp she is interested in signing up for and they can give you specific details.

REGISTRATION

Need Assistance? Call 972-349-2440 or 469-415-CAMP

Complete Day/Twilight Camp Registration & Health History Forms for every child registering for camp.

1 Registration Option One

offers the best chance for placement. Volunteer yourself or find another adult(s) who will volunteer to take training and serve on the Day/Twilight Camp staff for the week. Each adult working the entire camp session may submit up to six (6) child forms with her or his Adult Volunteer Staff Application. Volunteers will not necessarily be placed in a unit with the children they have registered. CLICK HERE for the online adult registration form. NOTE: If an adult volunteer cancels their participation, the children registered under their name may also be cancelled if the camp’s adult-girl ratio drops below Safety-Wise standards.

2 Registration Option Two

Individual girls who register for Day/Twilight Camp without an Adult Volunteer, or who have incomplete forms will be placed on a waiting list and placed in a camp unit until enough adult volunteers are available to meet Girl Scout adult to girl safety ratios. If placement in camp is not possible, total camp fee will be refunded. All children placed in camp will be assigned to ageappropriate units under the supervision of adult volunteers.

Fees $55 per girl; $30 for boys and preschoolers of volunteers working as Day/Twilight Camp Staff. All checks or money orders should be made payable to the camp attending.

Non-Girl Scouts A $15 non-refundable fee is required for annual membership dues to Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. for any girl, grades K-12, who is not currently registered as a Girl Scout. She must also complete a registration form. This is in addition to the $55 camp fee. gsnetx.org/join

Parents and/or Campers Meetings Most camps have a required pre-camp meeting for parents/guardians of all campers. Campers are expected to attend with parents. The meeting covers specific details about participation in camp, answers questions about clothing, and gives out a simple equipment list.

Buddies Two girls (same grade) who register for the same camp session may request placement in the same unit. In order to ensure that girls will be placed together they must each request to be placed as buddies on their Day/Twilight Camp Registration Form. If both girls do not request each other, there is no guarantee they will be placed together. Learning to connect to others and make new friends is part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Because of this, entire Girl Scout Troops may not be placed together. Individual camps vary.

Financial Assistance for Day/Twilight Camp Partial financial assistance may be requested for any registered Girl Scout living in the 32 counties served by Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. GSNETX makes every effort to assist as many girls as possible from our allocated funds. Families with financial situations that may prevent them from participating in the day/twilight camp program can request assistance for a portion of session fees, minus the required $10 deposit. If requesting Financial Assistance for Day/Twilight Camp: 1. Complete the Day/Twilight Girl Registration & Health History forms and send directly to the day/twilight camp along with your $10 deposit prior to the stated deadline. Please note on the girl registration form that you have requested financial assistance. Note: A financial assistance request does not guarantee that space will be available in the camp. 2. Complete the Online Financial Assistance Request. Incomplete requests will not be processed. 3. If financial assistance is granted, you will be notified by email the amount of financial assistance you will receive. Parents are responsible for paying remaining balance directly to the Day/Twilight Camp.
