Activity Approvals & Decision Tree
Activity Approval requests are required for activities that may put your Girl Scouts or you as a volunteer at a higher risk than typical Girl Scout activities. Approval requests can only be submitted at gsnetx.org/activityapproval. Use the information and decision tree below to help determine if you need to submit an activity approval. Still have questions? Troop Funds Agreement
Troops, groups, clubs, and service units all need to submit activity approval requests if their activities fall into the following categories: or requiring council-approval as outlined in Safety Activity Checkpoints (gsnetx.org/safetycheckpoints)
Meetings in a private home require one Activity Approval per membership year.
START HERE: Is your activity a standard troop meeting at your regular location?
Travel, overnights, and camping at a non-GSNETX property require an Activity Approval.
Is your regular troop meeting location in a private home?
Will sensitive issues be discussed during your activity?
You do NOT need to submit an Activity Approval request. Stay safe & have fun!
Is your activity listed as requiring council-approval in Safety Activity Checkpoints? YES
Activities about sensitive issues require an Activity Approval and parents/caregiver permission is needed.
Is your activity outside of the local area and/or an overnight activity?
Did you register for your event through GSNETX?
Any activities that require council approval should be submitted as an Activity Approval request.
Do you need a signed contract or a Certificate of Insurance for your event?
Signed contracts require an Activity Approval. Only designated staff members may sign contracts on behalf of GSNETX
