A LEGACY OF TENNIS
As you may know, the first Gstaad International tournament was held at the Gstaad Palace in 1915. This event was organised in collaboration with the Lawn Tennis Club Gstaad and marked the beginning of the long Gstaad’s Tennis tradition.
In 1959, Roy Emerson discovered the Gstaad Palace while playing in the Gstaad Open. And it was a few years later in 1973 when he envisioned a Tennis Camp celebrated in the Palace’s courts.
Together, Ernst Andrea Scherz and Roy Emerson came up with the “Gstaad Palace Tennis Weeks” – which have year after year been a success. Allowing tennis enthusiasts from all over the globe to improve their game with one of the best players in history.
