VISION

The vision of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association is to build an enduring community with all alumni standing in proud support of Georgia Tech and each other.

MISSION

The mission of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association is to champion and serve its alumni and the Institute through programming and engagement that fosters lifelong relationships and philanthropic support.

VALUES

The Alumni Association’s culture, aligned with the Institute, is built on our core values of Community, Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, Integrity, and Respect.

BUILD COMMUNITY

Create an alumni community that promotes service, sustains lifelong relationships, expands access, and champions all GT alumni.

Goal 1: Measurably increase the number of Georgia Tech learners who are connected to the Association using diverse forms of engagement (experiential, communication, philanthropic, volunteerism).

Goal 2: Strengthen alumni-to-alumni connections, enabling them to make significant contributions to each other.

Goal 3: Enhance student to alumni transition, articulating the value of being a member of the community/family.

AMPLIFY IMPACT

Partner with alumni, the Institute, friends, and industry to increase the impact and reach of the Alumni Association and the Institute.

Goal 1: Lead higher education (best in class) in providing unrestricted support to the Institute.

Goal 2: Develop volunteer leaders as advocates and ambassadors for the Alumni Association.

Goal 3: Become the connector for all things alumni within and for the Institute by creating an atmosphere of collaboration.

LEAD BY EXAMPLE

Invest in the tools, skills, processes, and people that enable the Alumni Association to be a high-performing organization.

Goal 1: Develop an operational model for the organization that can meet the needs of a growing and diversifying alumni base.

Goal 2: Build a strong infrastructure focusing on the appropriate tools and skills that remove barriers to organizational success.

Goal 3: Establish a workplace culture that infuses our values into the everyday work of the organization.

Community

We strive to build a healthy and vibrant environment that helps every member of the community grow holistically and develop the self-awareness, knowledge, and practices necessary to pursue healthy, purposeful, fulfilling lives.

Collaboration

We enable and celebrate collaboration across all disciplines and perspectives, between units and departments, and with other organizations at home and around the world. We value the contributions of all members of our community, promote respectful discourse, and help one another succeed.

Respect

We treat each other with dignity, courtesy, and consideration. We give credit where credit is due. We promote a culture where everyone feels welcome and included without the fear of favoritism or exclusion.

Integrity

We hold one another to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. We are transparent and accountable and strive to earn and maintain the public trust.

Excellence

We strive to be among the best at what we do and to set high expectations for each of us and for our community.

Innovation

We inspire, empower, and provide the resources and environment for innovative ideas to flourish. We welcome new concepts and approaches that lead to creative ideas and solutions.

GOAL 1

Measurably increase the number of Georgia Tech learners who are connected to the Association using diverse forms of engagement (experiential, communication, philanthropic, volunteerism).

Objective 1: Increase the number of engaged alumni among all population and location segments.

Objective 2: Direct resources to meaningful opportunities for alumni to engage with the Alumni Association and the Institute in all four defined areas of engagement.

Objective 3: Expand access of Alumni Association resources to non-degree learners.

GOAL 2

Strengthen alumni-to-alumni connections, enabling them to make significant contributions to each other.

Objective 1: Increase the number of opportunities for alumni to interact with each other.

Objective 2: Establish a baseline and improve existing program performance scores to ensure programs provide meaningful opportunities for alumni engagement.

GOAL 3

Enhance student to alumni transition, articulating the value of being a member of the community/family.

Objective 1: Increase the number of students connected to the Alumni Association during the final six months of school.

Objective 2: Improve key engagement channels to ensure recent graduates are connected to the Alumni Association within the first year.

Objective 3: Increase the number of new graduates who engage with the Alumni Association.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• Alumni engagement score and score within critical segments like young/new alumni

• Alumni satisfaction

• Metrics for mission-driven, meaningful engagement opportunities

• Number of young/new alumni connected through at least one of our engagement channels

• Interactions between alumni and between alumni and students

Objective 1: Improve donor acquisition among key segments, including increasing young alumni donor totals.

Objective 2: Increase the number of leadership level donors.

Objective 3: Improve donor retention rates.

Develop volunteer leaders as advocates and ambassadors for the Alumni Association.

Objective 1: Increase the number of alumni acting as giving ambassadors for Roll Call.

Objective 2: Increase opportunities for alumni to volunteer in mission-driven activities impacting the Alumni Association and the Institute.

GOAL 3 KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Become the connector for all things alumni within and for the Institute by creating an atmosphere of collaboration.

Objective 1: Serve as the bridge between the Institute and visitors of all types that come to campus.

Objective 2: Improve partnerships with campus units by developing a long-term engagement strategy.

Objective 3: Provide central services and sharing of best practices regarding alumni engagement across campus to demonstrate the impact of alumni activities.

• Key Roll Call metrics including first-time, reacquired, and renewed donors; total number of donors; and number of Leadership Circle households

• Total amount of dollars to Roll Call

• Metrics for volunteer support of Roll Call including giving ambassadors and gifts linked to peer giving

• Impact of engagement with campus, alumni, and community partners

• Number of volunteer training opportunities provided

Objective 2: Improve capture and reporting techniques of actionable data to allow continuous assessment of activities.

Objective 3: Increase staff effectiveness by promoting collaborative and cross-team work models.

Objective 4: Expand volunteer involvement in activities that deliver on the mission.

GOAL 3

Establish a workplace culture that infuses our values into the everyday work of the organization.

Objective 1: Establish engagement and culture that incorporate the values and identify areas for improvement, including addressing diversity within the organization.

Objective 2: Enhance retention and productivity by providing an environment of minimal barriers and more efficient systems that support individual and organizational goal achievements.

Objective 3: Improve staff empowerment and accountability in decision-making.

Objective 4: Increase opportunities for staff to take on leadership roles, particularly outside of their direct job tasks.

Build a strong infrastructure focusing on the appropriate tools and skills that remove barriers to organizational success.

Objective 1: Align technology (hardware and software) to ensure it efficiently serves organizational needs and allows all employees to perform at their highest potential.

Objective 2: Improve staff proficiency across the organization through upscaling of current staff and defining expectations to be used when hiring new staff.

Objective 3: Strengthen volunteer effectiveness with strategic training opportunities that allow for increasing the reach of the Alumni Association.

• Revenue from non-Foundation and non-Institute sources

• Positive ROI for technology and new programs

• Employee and volunteer engagement metrics
