Free Resources for Teachers
Considering the long hours teachers spend preparing for classes and the time spent grading papers at home, the life of an educator committed to helping students thrive isn’t easy. Guampedia can make it a little easier with lesson planning and classroom resources. Guampedia has a range of teaching materials for students in elementary, middle and high school – including lesson plans, materials for Guam Museum field trips, “Life on Guam” workbooks, fact sheets, the “Cultural and Silebråsion Activities for Young Children” activity book, and more. To access them, go to our Educators Portal. Here’s an intro to some of the free lesson plans (Tip: Click on the image to take you directly to the corresponding lesson plan!):

“Physics of a Slingstone” In this 45-minute lesson students will learn to apply knowledge about physics toward understanding the technology used by ancient CHamorus. Students will theorize a way to more forcefully throw a fist-sized object, and will then discuss the technology behind a slingstone, and, if in a physics class, conduct some calculations.
