What we offer
Regular Run Tour Located a short distance from the Las Vegas Strip in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, the Black Canyon is truly one of those unique places to visit. This canyon, formed over millions of years by volcanic activity, lies just below the mighty Hoover Dam where the canyon walls rise nearly 2,000 feet from the river’s edge. The Black Canyon is unique in its landscape, history, and close proximity to wildlife. Learn about and experience the history of Hoover Dam, the Colorado River, the geological formation of the canyon, and nature up close. The canyon is home to Bighorn sheep, Red-tailed hawks, Great Blue Heron, and a variety of other flora and fauna.
Postcard Tour Don’t have all day to spend on the river? Take the Hoover Dam Postcard Tour that allows visitors to view the Hoover Dam, the bypass bridge, and journey just far enough down river to feel the canyon’s surreal setting. See up close and personal the concrete slabs, steps, and rails used to build the dam. See the Old Catwalk, Gauging Station, and removed rock hillsides.

Your very own raft and choice of departure time. Tour times are regulated by U.S. Coast Guard to start one hour after sunrise and to be complete one hour before sunset. In accordance with our Concession Contract with the National Park Service. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES or PRIVATE COOLERS are allowed on the Rafts. HDRA reserves the right to assign rafts based on the number of passengers contracted. Raft seats are sold, not rafts.

WHEN COLD
Bring a COOL HAT to provide shade, and wear your SUNGLASSES. Lather up with plenty of SUNSCREEN before you get on the raft, and bring extra to apply throughout the day.
Even though it can be cold, wear layers. Once the sun comes out, it can heat up quick. Wear shoes that you dont mind getting wet.
During the hot summer months, we encourage people to get wet to cool down. Your clothes will be dry after about 30 minutes. Feel free to bring a towel to sit on. We provide wet towels and cold water to cool yourself.
Depending on weather conditions, you could get wet. The wind can cause splashing. We provide ponchos upon request. For the most part you will remain dry.
Backpacks and purses are allowed. Feel free to bring them. We are not responsible for lost damaged or stolen items.

***Our rafts are outfitted with all of the US Coast Guard required and recommended safety equipment.
Reservation and Cancellation Policy Full payment is due 10 days in advance of event date. Final passenger counts can be modified up to 10 days in advance of event date. Cancellation less than 10 days prior to date of raft trip will result in the forfeiture of the entire payment. Minimum charter price is locked in 10 days prior to event date and no less than 25 full-fare passengers. All changes must be made in writing, by fax or email. Special Permit is required for video equipment, weddings, or any special events. In accordance with our Concession Contract with the National Park Service — NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES or PRIVATE COOLERS are allowed on the Rafts. Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures reserves the right to assign rafts based on the number of passengers contracted. Raft seats are sold, not rafts. Copies of the student’s permission slips or parent signatures on our waivers are required. Make checks payable to Black Canyon River Adventures.

Yes, you can swim!
We do not raft on New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas. Weather permitting,we have themed rafting days on Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas Eve.
