Add a little bit of body text

Venn is the D.C. based shoegaze/dream-pop outfit of Jon Fetahaj, Gabe Earle, Julian Earle and Holden Cihelka. The band released their self titled debut EP on 2/22. Boasting a classic shoegaze sound with their own alt-punk driven twist, the 4 song collection is strong in terms of songwriting, and production.

VENN The group also recently released a cover of New Order's "Ceremony" accompanied by a music video. Their cover pays homage to the original, but has the characteristics of Venn's sound. The video has a VHS look to it, reminding viewers of the time when the original song was released.

They are active in their local music scene, and you should see them if you get the chance!

"ART/ CULTURE THROUGH THE LENS OF FEMALE IDENTIFYING/GENDER-FLUID FOLK."

ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE

Tell us something about yourself (creators)? Maile: I am the editor and founder of Accidental Discharge and I am also a free-lance writer and advocate for sustainable living. I am currently studying International Studies in Melbourne. Gemma: I am a workaholic, I actually can't relax or if I do I feel guilty. When I am at home I have to be at my desk getting work done, but this often also includes some lame TV show on the side of screen. I also use to work 3 jobs plus the mag. What is Accidental Discharge? Maile: Accidental Discharge is a publication that examines art and culture through the lens of intersectional feminism.

Can you describe your magazine's style in fashion, music, and/or art? Gemma: We aim for our magazine to be representative of many different styles and 'looks', as we like to encompass as many different artists work as we can. But our creative direction is very much led by our taste and intuition, which at its core may come across soft yet bold and subtlety feminine. What intentions/goals did you have when you first created Accidental Discharge? Maile: In the beginning I just wanted to create something for myself and friends to read when we were 17 as a response to the gap in media for young, marginalised voices. Since then we have expanded and are wanting to create a platform where voices can be heard. What has been your best publication that you’ve released? Gemma: I don't think we have yet released our best publication, as we always see room for growth and expansion. So far though, issue 3 would be our strongest and most refined. What message are you trying to send to your audience? What kind of audience are you trying to attract? We want to send the audience two messages: firstly that they are not alone and secondly to take a minute to sit back, acknowledge and listen to the marginalised voices that are normally not heard. As we develop and grow we see a clearer and clearer need for publications with way more diversity in voices and images. And every issue we want to push that idea even more.

Writing about love can be so sensitive So touchy and emotional It can evoke a love-hate A love lost A love gained Whatever the idea, whatever the case Love can be wrapped around your finger Become bruises on you arm Fill and surround your head Create constant heart eyes Or even fly away or return from a journey to and fro the situation Is love overrated or is it too broad of a feeling All feelings can be mimicked but not felt again the same after one time Love at first sight can be mimicked but not felt again after the first time Listen What do you hear when a heart beats What do you picture when you heard the word love How can you dare to manage something so wild It varies anon
