WELCOME
A very warm, Fringey welcome to Guildford Fringe Festival 2021! What a year we have all experienced. With events cancelled around the world it made for a much sadder place to live for all of us. One of the events that was cancelled was, of course, Guildford Fringe Festival 2020 & that was a huge blow to our small company. But we are still here, healthy & safe so we have a lot to be thankful for. We have had a massive amount of support over the past year. We ran our first Crowdfunder campaign in lock down #1 & the kindness of the general public still shocks us when we think about it. Our Friends of the Fringe have stuck with us throughout and supported us even though we didn’t have a great deal to offer back as thanks. We received a grant, both from Arts Council England (Culture Recovery Grant) & Guildford Borough Council (Discretionary Covid Hardship Grant) which took a huge weight of worry off our shoulders, GBC have also joined us as a sponsor this year. Our headline sponsors have stood by us & helped to prop the Festival up financially & offered advice when we needed it the most. The headline sponsors this year include Chapters Financial, Churchmill Partnership & Experience Guildford who have all been with us since the very early days & we will be forever thankful to them. This July we have the most wonderful line up of events for you to enjoy. With all our acts, producers and venues being locked up for a year there is going to be some explosions of energy throughout the month! Come and try something new & experience what Fringe is all about. Affordable, entertaining and accessible – they are the keys words for Guildford Fringe Festival. Happy Fringing to one & all, Nick & Charlotte Wyschna (we got married on 14 March 2020!)
