New Themaid Campus set for August opening At Compass International School Doha’s new Themaid Campus, we bring 12 years of academic excellence and community spirit in Qatar to a new, purpose-built facility. The Themaid Campus, near to Education City and Mall of Qatar, is the school’s largest campus and opens in August 2019. The new state-of-theart, purpose-built campus will offer students an exceptional learning environment from its wellequipped science laboratories and theatre to the 25-metre swimming pool and specialist areas for design, technology and music. Themaid Campus is an opportunity for students to be inspired by the world of learning in purpose-built facilities and through the school’s unique collaborations with The Juilliard School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The campus will accept students from Early Years through to Year 10 for

academic year 2019/20, offering the International Primary Curriculum, English National Curriculum and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in one campus. Future years will accommodate A-Levels as well as vocational programmes (BTEC). The main language at Themaid Campus is English, with Arabic classes available for native Arabic speakers and for international students as a foreign language. In Secondary, the campus also offers French and Spanish, in addition to Arabic.

Madinat Khalifa Campus helps nurture 21st century skills Close to West Bay, the Madinat Khalifa Campus offers Primary education from Year 1 to Year 6 and Secondary education for Year 7 to 13 and follows the English National Curriculum, International Primary Curriculum, IGCSE and the International

Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. The IB Diploma Programme offers students the best possible international education and inspires them to continue to be ambitious in their studies at leading universities around the world. The IB is taught to over 1.4 million students at over 5,000 schools in 153 countries. The IB Diploma Programme is highly valued by universities for its capacity to develop a student’s academic and personal potential. IB Diploma Programme prepares students for 21st century skills including global mindedness, cultural sensitivity, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking. In 2016/17, one of its students was placed in the top 4% of IB Diploma Programme attainment across the world and in 2017/18, another student was placed in the top 8% globally. Gharaffa Campus … exceptional learning environment To the west of Doha lies Gharaffa Campus, close to Doha’s Education City and Sidra Medicine. It is the school’s longest established campus in Doha. The Gharaffa Campus offers Early Years and Primary education from Early Years 1 to Year 6 and follows the International Primary Curriculum. The Gharaffa Campus also offers Dutch Language and Culture programme for younger Dutch speaking students from Early Years 1 to Year 6.

from Early Years 1 to Year 6 and follows the International Primary Curriculum. At the Rayyan Campus, the school offers a specialist English/French Bilingual Programme which is fully immersed into the heart of the campus. The Programme has been successfully running for four years with experienced bilingual teachers. Students have a French native teacher and an English native teacher and are taught English and French as stand-alone languages to develop knowledge and skills in both languages. Maths and the International Primary Curriculum, which covers all other subject areas linked together by a common theme, are taught in both languages, allowing children to be reflective, critical thinkers, applying their knowledge to solve problems and learning to be empathic and work socially with their peers in a bilingual environment.
